The 8500 super winch is actually a good winch, I've been using them for 4 years now, I've not only pulled ford f150 with dragging brakes, I've also pulled a 8500 lb suburban up a steep grade, a big camper that sunk into the ground, my truck, trailer and car weighing 14000 lbs out of a wet field with clay.. I've replaced 2 of them but only because they got destroyed from cars hitting them, cables stripping, etc. they only started putting those winches on sale last year, which come to 360$ with tax. I recommend it, especially since you won't use it too often.
