Montreal protester charged with inciting terrorist activities

Police say they've arrested and charged a man who was carrying an explosive device during Tuesday's protest against tuition fee hikes in Montreal.

Montreal police spokesman Sgt. Dany Richer said the man was apprehended around 5 p.m.

Richer said more serious charges were laid after police carried out an investigation after the arrest.

Denis Marc Pelletier, 29, has been charged with possession of explosive devices, possession of arson devices, uttering death threats and inciting terrorist activities.

He was arraigned Wednesday and will remain behind bars until his bail hearing on Thursday morning at the Montreal courthouse.

funny how police don't say what those 'explosive devices' were in any way at all...they just say so.

He is not charged for terrorism at all. He is charged for what he wrote on Facebook and I dunno where and for carrying Molotov cocktails to the protest.

Now, whenever the police charges one person with any of the new "Anti-terrorism Act" related charges, created in the wake of 9/11, they are allowed to dig and request information with no mandate on everyone he might have talked or dealt with.

No more attitude faces and smiles while getting arrested!? ohh too bad, while you do your time and watch your future plans fly away, you can always smile that you will go down in history as.... wait, they already forgot about you. hope it was worth it going through all this for saving less than a dollar per day when you spend 10 times more just on coffee a day!
