An Amazing Machine -- My BMW ///M3 Thread

I decided to make a thread for my car and everything I have done to it since I bought it late last summer. Performance wise the car is stock and I currently don’t plan on modifying the car since it is really is an amazing machine as is in stock form and I also don’t want to compromise the reliability of the car.

So with that said if you are looking for a thread with a serious project this isn’t the thread for you.

What I have done up to this point is clean up the car and make sure it is in tip top shape inside and out and a couple minor aesthetic changes and of course a good set of wheels and rubber. Any further changes will be added to the thread *tu*

All my pictures have been taken from my iPhone so they are ok quality but far from great, I will be getting some proper shots of the car taken and the thread will be updated.

Here’s the car as I bought it

The first thing I did was a complete detail of the car inside and out, you can see all the details of the job in this thread http://montrealracing.com/forums/showthread.php?822302-BMW-M3-Detailed

Here's some beading over a month later

Now that the detailing is done I fixed a few small problems that the car had, starting with the fabric on the C-pillar
There's a DIY write up here:http://montrealracing.com/forums/showthread.php?828170-DIY-E46-C-Pillar-fabric-repair

Another problem I fixed was a badly scratched gauge cluster

I then replaced the faded rear M-badge as you can see the old (I know it's small I had to crop it from another image but it is very faded)

and the new

At this point there was a two small things I wanted to change aesthetically

They are black kidney grills

and yellow fogs

At this point the car was stored for our awful winter season

Over the winter I picked up my new set of wheels which are OEM 19" Style 359 made by BBS as well as some quality rubber. Yokohama Neova Advan AD08.

And when I took the car out just the other day I treated it to a nice TWS oil change

Very nice. *tu*

You pretty much did the same things I would do if I had that car, but I would eventually get some light tints.

Looks Epic! You sir are a connoisseur.
Those wheels define the car. Keep it up.

Were chilling this week, I need to see it. Lol

Thanks for all the comments

Well then you sir have good tastes, clean and simple that's how I wanted this car. As for the tints I am a huge fan of having tints so don't be surprised if it gets some :D

you didn't talk about the tires, but they look like quality tires (aka AD08 ;)) Nice ride man!

You're 100% right it must have got away from me while writing the thread but they are indeed Advan AD-08 and they are a key part to the cars performance, enough that I should mention it so I'll update it.

Thanks

Goes to show that carefully chosen small aesthetic mods can go a long way! Great job! *tu*

That's definitely true, but I have had many project cars and usually have always modded my cars a lot more but in this case there's a fine line of what you can really do to an M3 and given what the car is I really want to keep it as original as possible.
