any fixie fans here?

Le mien pour finir l'été!

I'd like to keep my fixie as a summer ride (although it is fun in winter) however, I am looking for a coaster brake wheel for my winter beater. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm looking for used and cheap (so I wouldn't worry about the bike being stolen). Thanks

Depends on what is ''cheap'' for you, but any shop that have damour bicycle as distributor could order the hub+rim an make it build by them for around 50$.

we charge 40$ to rebuild a wheel with a new hub and also norco as a distrubuteur sells sturmey archer hubs wich are not that bad they come in a variety of single speed to 3 speed fixed gear even 5 gears

50$ is pretty cheap ;)

converted my girlfriend's old road bike into a fixed, she's still looking for a nicer seat though.
The wheels are purple (iphone makes them look blue).
52:18 I believe

Bon petite histoire courte.

You can do something called ankling with clipless pedals. You can basically make power from 12 to 8 o'clock.

Crank Brothers Eggbeaters are exactly what you want.

I don't like the feeling under my foot, I feel like I'm pushing on a pole and no flat metal piece. I tried Road clip and they're awesome but no casual shoes for thoses. After I tried SPDs and I really like it although it's harder to declip.

What an awesome thread! I have an old Peugeot bike..can anyone tell me more about it? (I don't know shit about bikes)
It wont go into some of the higher gears..I was thinking of converting it into a single gear.

I want to start biking this summer..

Is this a good bike to start with? weighs 30 lbs as is, switching to a fixed gear would shed some weight too..

My fixed gear for this summer Changed the fork to a carbon, new headset, new oversized handlebar, and new stem
It's basiclly my beater to go to Uni and chill around, I am still waiting on my front break!
