Hahah I remember eating there in the early 2000s.... 3 friends, some ribs and steaks and drinks = $500 and that was when Dave McMillan was chef there. So needless to say that place was booming (and we were eating next to Hank Azaria that night)
As for cops... I guess they are just trying to make an example out of the laxed laws on booze these days...
Most cops HATE giving tickets or doing things like these but when the order comes down from up above.. no choice.

These "restaurants" are huge on fucking with the alcohol laws.
It's F1 weekend, where these places makes their monthly (or 2 month) revenue in a weekend. They are hitting them on purpose where it hurts to try to once again let them know who's boss.
They apparently had to spend $100 000 to restock their cellars/fridges the next day.

A ce que je sais le Jack Astors ont un permis de bar. La plupart des restos qui ont un comptoir "bar" on un permis qui leurs permettent de vendre de l'alcool sans nourriture.
Pis le gov't dicte pas ce que le consommateur a le droit d'acheter ou pas. C'est les restauranteurs qui font le choix du type de permis. Il y a des restauranteurs qui ne veulent pas avoir des clients qui viennent breter un pichet de bière pendant 2 heures, d'autre que oui, et d'autres qui préfere que le client amene sont alcool (apportez votre vin)
Le système s'auto-régule sans que le client se rende compte. La preuve est dans le thread, la plupart d'entre vous savez meme pas que ce loi existe, justement parce-qu'elle n'a jamais causé de problème pour vous. Les gens savent quand il veulent prendre un bière ou un verre de vin il vont aller à un bar-brasserie-bar a vin, ou resto avec comptoir bar, et quand il veulent manger il vont à un restauarant et commande de l'alcool pour aller avec leur repas. Personne va se prendre une table de quatre au pied de cochon juste pour boire une biere le vendredi soir...

one criminal orginization can stop you in the street for some arbitrary 'infraction' that hurt no one, and extort large cash from you for it. can also demand to 'check inside your asshole' just because - sometimes (or often) they will get violent when one refuses. one orginization can routinely shoot unarmed people in broad daylight in front of witnesses & recieve a paid union vacation as punishment: Italians, Triads, Hells or the Police?
