Fastest mtl street car in street mode?

Last weekend I was having a beer with my best buddies and we were talking about when he had fast street cars in the late 90s. Back then I had a mustang that ran low 12s in street mode and I can say I never lost a street race. Vipers gave me a good run, they had the potential to beat me but most drivers were not able to drive them well enough to beat me. Most serious muscle cars were owned by older guys that didn't want to race...

So now the question is, how fast would a street car have to be to be the fastest thing around the streets(street mode) today?

I know of a few street cars running 11s: SC mustangs, GTRs, supras, vipers, AMG cars, etc.

I know for sure some people are running high 10s...would mid low 10s be enough? 135-140mph?
 
My GTR is pretty fast. In the 10's over 130. But there are some way faster cars here. The twin turbo lambos, some crazy gtr's. etc
 
Also forgot to say pump gas because nobody really drives with race gas on the street for an extended period of time. I know there is at least 2 TT lambos around mtl, what do they run? Do the owners really push them once in a while? Lots of cars have amazing dyno sheets...but you can't race a dyno sheet.

Has anybody seen a veyron at the track...or do a highway pull?

Can't really think of anything running faster than mid-high 10s around mtl.
 
C'est fou comment maintenant 10sec c'est un benchmark "correct", il me semble qu'avant, 10sec tu parlais d'une voiture avec le devant en fiberglass sur du Slick de 50'' de large.. Les temps ont changés!
 
Ben plus tôt dans l'été j'ai parti un thread pour essayer de voir si le propriétaire de la Veyron boosté aurait voulu se pogner contre la Gallardo TT.

Ça serait pas mal les chars de rue les plus rapides (AWD on street tires)

Pis pour le gaz de course, je connais une coupe de personne qui se promène régulièrement avec du gaz de course dans tank. Et avec du meth et du 94, il y a beaucoup d'octane disponible...

Au début des années 90, avec une voiture dans les 10s, tu avais des chances de faire le "quick 16" dans un programme régulier à Napi...

Asteur, not a single fuck was given...

Les GMC Syclone/Typhoon et Buick GN avec quelques modifications pouvaient faire 10secs et on parle de ça fin 80 et début 90.
 
la coche a monté pas mal, ya 10 ans un char de hi-11' était quasi intouchable sur la rue. maintenant, si tu rentre pas dans le 10' solide t'est mieux d'être prudent...on est capable de rouler 1 seconde plus vite grâce a l'amélioration des pneus et de l'électronique

d'la façon que je vois ça ici au Québec:
11 sec= ca marche pas mal!
10 sec= une vrai bombe!
9 sec= le King d'la place!
8 sec= God on wheels!
 
La GTR noire qui pull n'importe qui a St-Eustache est vraiment rapide...Elle a même l'interieure complet et des pneus DOT approved. Je ne sais pas pour le gaz qui roule par contre. Y'avais aussi un gars qui roulait une Z06 supercharged Nitrous et qui a gagné ''King of the street'' il y a 3 ans qui roulait mid 10's sur la Rive-sud.
 
11s is noting these days... A lot of stock cars run these number. Even a BMW 135i/335i will easily run in the 11s with very few bolt-ons. (less then $3k in parts in fact)
 
This car is in MTL and is street legal..

This GTR runs low 9's with only 950hp..owner just got his "old" one back from being built..1600hp

There is also a TT Jeep SRT-8 that runs low 10's maybe even 9's and DMCC driver Francis Tasse has his TT Viper with something like 1200 hp..
 
Twin Turbo Lambos are not what I consider street cars. To me a street car must be driveable all year round and while possible, I rarely even see these cars during the summer. the only car mentioned I think could fit in Street Car category for me would be a GTR, but when modified at 950HP, I don't think the owner would take it out very often in winter. For me, a street car would be more like a modified Daily Drivable car. To an extent, a sunny day/weekend warrior, but not a track best that's running streets tires to get to the track. My $0.02.

ah ouin, tu pense ça? tu devrait aller a Napierville plus souvent...y'en a pas des tonnes mais y'en a, prend juste Eric ou Guy Tremblay. Guy a un lx coupé qui run 9' presque flat sur des drag radial 245 16" avec full exaust 2,5", char aucunement vidé pis c'est loin d'être le plus vite! La majorité roule des v8 dans le 10' et sont capable de descendre dans le 8' avec une shot de nos.
 
Alain Vigneux de Sherbrooke a un Duster 70 sur des street legal et il a runner autour de 8.50 si ma mémoire est bonne. Le char a l'air assez stock et je le vois souvent rouler avec.

nobody care de ton 2 cent......qu'est-ce que l'hiver a a voir dans tout sa .......Char de rue =/= daily driver
