For the Doubting Thomas still in need of proof, here it is. Chevrolet has just released a stunning video of the 2014 Camaro Z28 lapping the Nurburgring in an astonishing time of 7:37.47.

True, that’s hardly a record, but its faster than the latest generation Porsche 911 Carrera S. And the Z28 was running with a severe handicap… it did it in the rain (partially at least).

Not impressed that a 500 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque 7.0L V8 can beat up on a 400 hp six-cylinder with the engine disadvantageously placed behind the rear axle? OK, then how about a list of other sports cars it’s faster than: Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, 458 Italia, GT3, Lexus LFA.

just saw the vid 2h ago, love the growling sound of the exhaust in the higher rpm's. bout time the Z came back.

im sure DODGE is working on a T/A Challenger after Ford and Chevy have released thier track version pony cars.. here's hoping!!

funny how this brand new car, is so fast even if they put an old ''retired'' Z06 engine in it !
Even the whole Camaro platform is outdated compared to the competition in it's price range!

No lame rear steering, no DCT and most importantly a fraction of the price.

Wonder if bolting super sticky tires on it will cause the car to implode :D

Now how is Ford going to respond with the S550 Mustang? I doubt Dodge will try and join the game as the Challenger would need to shed 5tons. This is going to be a Ford/GM battle

Pour de la puissance c'est pas ce qui manque mais j'ai tellement pas tripper sur l'auto personnellement.

Essayer la SS2 sur route et sur circuit et à moins qu'elle me sois donné je préfèrerais de loin bien d'autre véhicule à celui la même si il sont plus lent.
