C63 in the winter

Anyone here drive one during the winter? Are they that bad? I'd be putting some quality winters on them FYI.

I know it'd be easier to get a cheap beater but it's just 10x easier for me to have just one car at the moment.

So, any feedback?

No problems at all and it's fun as hell. The traction controll is doing its job perfectly. You just cant put it in S mode and go crazy...

But for really heavy snow days I have to admit that I prefer my GLK...

I bet the C63 with quality winters is better than my GLK on winter approved 4 seasons.

Great thanks for the reply. I'm coming from a 2012 STI and I was kinda hesitant about making the switch.

I know it won't be as good as my current car, but as long as I can still drive to work in a normal snow storm I don't mind.

What winter tires are you running anyways?

I'm sure you are right.

But on my GLK, I have it set with Pirelli Scorpion's and it's a monster in the snow.

The C63 is running Vredestein Wintrac xtreme.

The problem with the C63 is that it's sitting pretty low (especially with lowered suspension like I have). That's why I prefer the GLK.

If you put good tires on them, you won't have any problems.

coming from an STI.... your winter will suck hard

I winter drive my mustang with 19 inch Blizzak LM-60. Its fine as long as you're not in deep snow. I did get stuck a few times after snow storms. Put sandbags in the trunk for a bit of extra traction. Limited slip diff is a life saver

Oh I know it'll be far from the same thing as compared to the STI, I'm ok with that. I just want a bit of feedback on people who are already doing it

I have two friends with C63s both drive them in the winter and they both told me they were fine even though every told then it would be hell on earth in the snow.

+1 LSD makes a huge different.

In my opinion the 3 top factors that affect the driveability of a car in winter are in order:

1- winter tires
2- ground clearance
3- whatever wheel drive

a RWD car that has good ground clearance and good winter tires will outperform an awd car with summers/shitty all seasons any winter day.

True, LSD does make a difference. I think that only the sport pack comes with an LSD too.

If you can winter drive a 5.0 mustang, I should be good in the amg. I'll just take it easy on the throttle.

Si tu as le budget pour ca, go for it.
