It'll depend on what month your car was made in. They check it by your VIN#. Get info about that and if you are registering a car in June, while it was built in May, you should be in the clear.

Je doute vraiment de l'histoire du numero de serie, la SAAQ prend seulement ''l'année modele'' pas la date de production.
 
2004 = 10 years old

Doesn't matter when it was made, as far as the saaq is concerned it's not listed so no tax.
 
L'année passée j'ai acheté un Golf 2003 qui n'était plus listé, je prends la même logique et je l'applique pour cette année donc non les 2004 ne sont plus listés

Je peux te comfirmer que tu va pas payer la qst. Je vien de macheter un wrx 2004 cette apres midi et je lai declarer 1$ sans probleme
 
Ahahaha, la face de la madame à la saaq vaut toujours mille piastres quand tu déclares un char à 1$.

yea that's 100% BS. 25 years old will require an evaluation of worth to base the taxes on.

If it's a private sale you could put the sale amount of whatever you wish.. You could say 1$ and they will charge you tax on 1$.. If you buy from dealer the TPS will be on the amount paid and already filled in by the dealer on the SAAQ sheet.

La derniere fois que j'au vendu un char non liste on voulait le declarer 100$ a la SAAQ et la madame nous dit que elle peut le mettre a 1$ si on veut LOL. J'ai ete assez etonne que c'etait elle qui nous proposait
 
Jai acheter un char qui a 25 ans, rendu aux plaques la madame ma dit quelle devait verifier voir si il etait antique et cest a partir de la 26e année quil est antique.
 
Ma corolla est maintenant antique! cest fou pareil. Jvais me presenter au meet de voitures antiques a ste-anne de bellevue prochaine fois :)
