Pant shitting action hillclimb (In Poland GSMP 2013)

That Black Subby that kept hitting everything with his passenger side lol. The Beltowski one.

Il semble avoir trouvé un setup de suspension différent des autres, car c'est le seul dans le vid qui semble pas avoir une suspension incroyablement stiff, mais foutrement efficace.

Fiat 500-126, Poland's fav Fiat ever.

Maluch!

I am pretty sure you can do a hill climb event somewhere in the mont saint-sauveur valley. you invite a bunch of series/class to participate. even maybe a street legal class? you can also use a small section to do a drift/touge event. Get someone to do a TV show with it and boom you have good media coverage and i am sure the spectators will come because it's not to far from Montreal. I know the cars won't be as awesome then in Europe but I still think it could turn out to be a really cool event

unfortunately if it goes that route it will be hosted by Guillaume L'ami P'tit vierge and Louis José Houde and it will suck balls. Expert coverage by dildo Jacque Duval. Sponsored by Pepsi and the BRZ/FRS... This sort of event needs to be sponsored by alcohol, sauerkraut, boobies and cigarettes and at NO point to have any advertisement by the casino, Monster.
Breast cancer because we support boobz, local shops etc etc, of course a few big corpo's.

I love the amount of truth in what this thread has brought.

It would be JOKES to organize this event in Montreal streets. only thing is that a single day event would cost over 500 000$ in city fees (so no budget for anything else).

Having this sort of uphill in Montreal is exactly what would give it a successful turnout, for business, tourism, exposure and trying to fix Montreal's reputation around the world.

Im pretty sure we do not have groupe B spec cars but there is a fair amount of serious cars in QC for this to be worthy of broadcasting. Hell even a 2012 Sti, stripped with a bolt-on cage would be fun to watch.
Older volvos, track civics, hell even racing go-karts, no one cares about the machine, all everyone cares about is the car making it to the top of the hill/end line.

I think, no need for tire chicanes, we have potholes that will reproduce the same effect.

ps 2 the v-d-o: I love how the red opel is driven like it was stolen.

Na Zdrowie, glad you guys like.

brb, contacting Denis Coderre because uphill racetime.

Little known fact: to get motor Racing to be broadcasted on television, you need to pay the channel. Sport Channels don't prowl about looking for stuff to broadcast, unles you are a big-time Sport event, like F1 or the NHL.

Rallying has been on RDS/TSN because rallying pays - a LOT! - to be there. And then they get only halfway shitty time slots.

The premier Canada-only Road Racing Series, the CTCC does not get any airplay. Pretty fucking sad, if you ask me. That is because they would have to pay to produce the show, then pay the network to air it. If you do that, then you require a shit load of sponsors, or you cut into the organisation of the series. And sponsors don't come on-board if you are not on TV...

Vicious circle.

Economics is a total bitch. But maybe they can do a youtoube channel or something to get the ball rolling.

Not if the organiser creates his own tv show. Just like "wake dans rue" did and then you sell it to either tva sport, rds etc...

You need a shit load of cameras to provide an entertaining package of a race on TV, and they need to ba damn close to the action otherwise the race looks flat. Editing is also quite critical, as you want to show the interesting battles, not the one "hero" running away with an easy victory (which happens very often).

That's why it's so damn expensive.

If you don't have those resources, you end up with obscur if interesting "reality type" programs like "P1" did for CTCC, but ultimately, you need to show the race itself and for that, you need big bucks.

I am very conscious on the costs involved to produce a race that is aired. But you need to consider the fact that technology has come a long ass way, with a well played out course multiple cameras can be placed in strategic spots, drones can be used as well and of course on board cams.

There are many sponsors that still give out even though it is not broadcasted.

As someone mentionned it, you can have live streaming on Youtube. If it was held in mtl, trust: RDS would be all over it...
