So tell me about your first car

Me I was 17 at the time. I was in CEGEP and in April my homie bought his first car, a 300zx TT jdm. I didn't know much about cars that time but I was with him when we picked up the car. My friend was so excited that he didn't even test drive it lol. We bought it from a JDM shop on Industriel owned by Afghans anyways, the moment we drove the car back to his home, I got interested and would read car related stuff non-stop.

That summer I was working as a summer camp instructor and I would get paid like 400$/week. I saved EVERY penny of it and in august, when I had around $3500 cash and started surfing on kijiji/lespac. I found a 1998 Honda Accord coupe, I4 automatic (lol) and told myself THAT'S THE CAR I WANT. Called the guy, didn't even ask him questions and told him i want to see the car tomorrow. he lived in Sorel and I was in Laval and the next morning (saturday) my mom drove me to sorel to see the car. I drove it for like 5 minutes in the parking lot (lol) acting like I knew stuff. The guy was fucking weird (50 years old french guy whos told me he had a japanese girlfriend and they would call each other and speak broken english when I was checking out the car) and he kept saying that I could burn Ferraris on the high way and how much power the car had lol. I was 17 and naive, negociated the price to $3200, went to SAAQ and made the transfer. Most compulsive purchase of my life and what a mistake. When we left SAAQ the guy told me 'good luck with the car and be careful when you drive' :dunno: I didn't think too much about it and 2 days later, check
engine light came on. Then I realized the transmission was fucked up on 3rd and 4th gear and would glitch so much it's not even funny. Anyways I was so mad but I learned my lesson. As I know more about cars, I told the Accord after 10 months. I still wish I could find that guy and rape his japanese girlfriend though

I was 16, v6, manual , luxury, papy fast, perfect condition .
It was stored and the guy want to get rid of it , 3500$. Back then those car where around 8-9000$. Best bargain ever.

It was fast, I did handbrake turns in it, raced people in civics on the highway and passed cars on the shoulder, upon oil changes started an empty engine to make sure more oil came out, sealed the sunroof with bathroom sealant, painted the roof with a flatblack can and a clear which has green metallic in it, and finally rammed it into a stop sign, which i fixed by strapping it to the tow hook of said car, and bending it back straight.

Back in 1986, bought a $500 Ford 1978 LTD II. What a boat, 351C, drank gas like crazy. Heater was pissing prestone, carb needed tuning, rear chrome bumber was hanging. ahhhhhh memories......

Buick park avenue 1991 in 2006. I was 17. Lasted 3 months before the subframe bolts brokes and left me with no steering on cure labelle. Bought it from a guy that had the cars from his 85 yo father that died 1 month before. Paid 800$

J'ai acheter un Mazda protégé 1994 1.6 manuel avant même d'avoir mon permis juste pour pouvoir le rouler la seconde que j'ai eu mon probatoire. j'avait payé le char 1000$ et il valait pas plus que ca. j'ai commencer a faire de la mécanique avec ce char la car avant je faisait juste regarder/aider mon grand frere a en faire sur son crown victoria . J'ai déjammer le systeme de brake a bras, changement d'huile, tune up complet et fait les brakes au 4 coins. J'était ben content de mon achat et je partait en char dès que j'en avait l'occasion. Je battait le char comme ca se pouvait pas. partait en malade a chaque coin de rue et j'amenait la 1ere vitesse jusqu'au cutoff un peu trop souvent. Le plaisir de conduire manuel. On partait 4 dans le char pour aller niaiser un peu partour. Je l'ai bien aimée et j'ai fait l'erreur de m'acheter un Ranger 2002 2x4.
Annecdote: En revenant chez nous je prend une sortie pour changer d'autoroute et a cause de la force centrifuge le gas dans la tank a gas est toute aller sur un bord et le char a caller. sort de la rampe et le char repars (javais pas appuyer sur la clutch ou mis au neutre) j'était content en esti que le char reparte et en fin de compte jme suis rendu a la station de gas de justesse il boccait et menacait de caller encore!!! Depuis ce temps la je niaise pas avec mon niveau d'essence

J'ai deja eu un Tercel shitbox et j'ai attendu que la lumiere a gaz allume avant d'aller gazer. Elle est jamais allumée. Resultat : J'ai pousser le char de l'accotement de la 15 S jusqua la sortie Le carrefour a 8h00 AM.. Pu JAMAIS j'attend. J-A-M-A-I-S

I had put an intake/header/exhaust, jwt camshaft and ECU, eibach suspension, sound system, a few other things. Itwas pretty quick for a sedan at the time, I remember clocking 15 seconds flat at napierville with it.

My first car was a 1997 Hyunday Tiburon






I was like 19 and I was ready to buy a car and my neighbor had his Tiburon for sale in his driveway so I wen't to check it out and I bought it, it was pretty convenient. I didn't really know much about cars at the time I just knew that I wanted a small manual car, and I couldn't even drive manual! But that was pretty much the best way to learn.

It was a pretty decent car though, everything worked and it pulled nicely, it even came with a nice sound system which was pretty cool at the time. I did a couple minor mods to it and ended up crashing it a couple years later but I was still able to sell it so it wasn't too bad.

It was a great learning process from the time I bought to the time I sold it.

My first car was a 96 Ford Escort coupe that i bought from a neighbour 400$ back in 2006. I sent it to the scrapyard because the clutch had to be changed.

Premiere voiture c'étais un Cavalier RS 4 portes avec un 3.1 manuel V6 que j'avais payé 200$ a une amie a ma mere quand j'avais 19 ans environ.
Premier char que j'ai appris a conduire manuel en plus avec ca clutch de 'truck' mais j'ai eu du fun avec ce char la a cause que c'étais 'torqueux'.
J'avais été avec des chums a cour a scrap Haye's et j'ai pris presque tout les goodies d'un Z-24 et je l'avais mis dessus. (hood ram air,Bolle a air Ram air,Strut Tower braces,mags)
Y'avais un trou dans le planché d'environ 1 pied de long et 3-4 pouces de large a cause que c'étais juste a cet endroit la qui étais pourris.
Mon beau-pere la réparé avec de la tole galvanisé 1/8,soudé et ensuite 'sealer' avec du pitche ben épais.
Revendu le char 1200$ 1 ans plus tard a un de mes chums qui avais besoin d'un char 4 portes.

Ouin tu aprend vite avec une badluck comme ca :run: Si tu te fait pogner c'est un ticket car tu manque de gas sur l'autoroute en plus du remorcage exclusif a 180$.

Plymouth Laser 1991, 330 000KM à lachat, javais 17 ans pis jaimais sa battre mon char lol... Lordi a sauter, jnai acheter un de spair. Le 2e a sauter aussi, le char virais 5000rpm au idle en permanence, avec une perte dexhaust. J'ai decider de lenvoyer a scrap donc jai ete faire du brake a bras extreme, pogner des banc de neige, jai jumper avec le char pis quelques minutes avant que le towing vienne le chercher jvoulais asseyer de faire un powershift... le moteur a monter proche 9000RPM entre la 1 et la 2, meme chose entre la 2 et 3, pis apres y virais pu bien apres.... jai ete le parker pis le towing est partit avec hahaha

J'veux pas te dire c'etait quoi ton char, mais les protege venais seulement en 1.8l dans ces années soit un SOHC ou un DOHC. Les 323 etaient 1.6l SOHC, l'edition speciale 25e anniversaire avait un 1.8 SOHC.

Moi aussi c'est ce que j'ai eu comme premier char, une 93 vert foret par contre. C'etait un tres bon char et elle m'a durer 4-5 ans, et j'ai par la suite racheté une 91 SE noir avec toit ouvrant qui m'a elle aussi duré 4-5 ans.

j'avais 15 ans, jtravailler comme un fou a 26h semaine pendant les semaine d'école, jfaisait 350$ par semaine... a 17 ans je me suis acheter une cruze 1.4T flambant neuve cash

ya rien de mieux qu'un char neuf payer cash. comme ca, tu te casse pas la tete avec des criss de paiements par mois!
