partir de rien perso j'irais LS based. si tu veux rester SBF un moteur 351W based serait une bonne option.

.... ou un LT1? :D

I just read through the whole thread and all I can say is kudos for all the quality work! Good luck with the motor swap *tu* It's refreshing to see a thread where people have done more than a drop and wheels, let alone somebody who can work on a car properly.

I love Foxes like no other Mustang. This is kind of off topic, but what kind of gas mileage could one expect from a stock(ish) 5.0 Fox? I've been long considering picking one up when the time is right.

If i remember correctly, stock will give you about 23 mpg highway

I wanted a spare engine for a built someday so the spare engine will be the original one .
If my $400.00 KiJiJi motor runs good I won't be in a hurry for a built but I'll have the LongBlock sitting right next to me so this will give me plenty of time to think.
I don't even know what I want to do with it , I just like taking stuff apart anyway so I'm happy and I had to clean stuff around the motor but the engine bay still looks like crap ( paint ) but it's acceptable .

Next time I pull the engine out ( maybe this winter ) I'll prep the engine bay for a paint job done outside my place.

Wouldn't it be easier to pull the heads off and check? Rather than buying another motor

I haven't answer your question but yes it would have been but it was itching me to pull the engine out to clean stuff so this was a go.
I was waiting for something to break to pull it out.
Now I want to do , "In Out" ' drive the car for the next 2 month ( Oct, & Nov. ) maybe Dec. if weather permitted and put it a sleep for the winter.
I'll try to finish it for Sunday .

I don't post much pictures because I don't know if this motor will be good or not but I do have tons of them so as soon as this engine runs I'll upload them but tonight I was at replacing the pilot bearing so I have no special tool for that , I went on Google and someone said you can push the bearing out with a slice of bread , I started laughing and not because I was under the influence , that was too funny.
I had to try it.

I have to pull this bearing out of the crankshaft.

So I ran in my house , openned the fridge and grab a slice of my favorite bread.

ry%3D480

One should be enough :D

ry%3D480

and started pushing the bread in.

half was out already.

ry%3D480

Funniest thing ever.

Done on schedule .

Need to finish up the timing but no leaks or weird noise except the 1st couple minute idling it ran like crap ( noisy ) empty lifters :dunno:

Motor before been dropped in .

I was afraid the car will tilt ( empty engine bay and cross member off ) so I had strap the frame to the lift but after shaking it looks like it was not going to be a issue but still.

Not too familiar with timing the distributor but I think I may be 1 tooth off because ( if I understand this right ) the line at the bottom of the casing of the distributor should be about right on the small line on the block to be at about 10 degree BTDC and if I bring it there it doesn't run very good. :dunno:

ry%3D480

I'll work on this tomorrow evening and maybe I'll do a test drive . *tu*
