Welcome to "Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport"

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is the best museum I've ever visited hands down. Where else can you find so much win under one roof? With all Smithsonian Museums entrance is free but we had to pay 15$ for parking.. I would have easily paid 15$ to get in without a doubt. I'll let the photos do the talking... I can't post everything I took but you get the idea of the scale..

Saturday morning we awoke to off and on light showers but still managed to get what we wanted in. The Capitol Building was a short walk from the hotel. Luckily it was still rather early in the morning and the place wasn't fill with that many people.

From there is was another quick walk to The Air and Space Museum. I'll be honest about this. It was okay but not great compared to the Udvar-Hazy center. The location downtown is more suited towards families and children visiting from Kansas. However the displays were still great to see but not really a place for the hardcore fan.

We continued down to The Washington Monument which was spectacular and much larger than I had thought.

That night we decided to view The White House after having an excellent dinner at "The Hamilton". I didn't want to take my SLR with me so iPhone it is.. The entire area surrounding it is crawling with secret service agents.

J'y ai été l'an passé. De loin le meilleur musée que j'ai vue. C'est vaste, aéré, beaucoup de chose a voir, tres bien organisé.

C'est vraiment une destination a voir. Meme ma blonde a vraiment apprécié l'endroit.

WOW!!!!!! This place is PACKED with interesting stuff, very, very, very mise place. I thought the Ottawa one was great (and it is...) but this is wicked!!!

Thanks!

Sunday we awoke to better weather. Hot and steamy!

Off to The Museum of American History. Again the trick is to get there early before the giant crowds showed up.. We had wanted to visit The National Archives but the line up at 10am was already around the building 5 times...

It was time to leave Washington DC behind. Like always I felt that I missed a ton of stuff but there are only so many hours in a day.

The trip to DCA is simple. You hop on the Metro and it brings you directly there! Imagine that.. a Metro that things you to the airport in 20 mins.

Quite the collection of eye candy there, thanks for sharing. How did you come to be known as MontrealRacing's Aviation Expert?

Man they even have the wooden stealth plane the Nazi's built

PS - I love the mock up display of the northwest 747 at the other museum
