The Adventure of the Automobile: 6500km Roadtrip

It's been a long while since I've been on MR, but I just uploaded some roadtrip pictures and I'd figure that I should share, maybe inspire others to go on an adventure of their own.

In May of 2014, myself and Logik23 from the forum took 10 days off and made vague plans to drive from Montreal to Cape Breton, camping out along the way. It ended up not being anything like we planned with lots of unforeseen obstacles and problems broken up my mindbogglingly beautiful sights and wonderful people. It was a 10 days neither of us will ever forget and reminded us both why we used to post here and what made us gravitate towards the automobile: the freedom of the open road coupled with an unbeatable sense of adventure.

The route was vaguely Montreal --> Rimouski --> Moncton --> Halifax ---> Cabot Trail --> PEI ---> Montreal.

If people want more details I can post them later but I'll skip the blah blah and post some pictures:

The vehicle: 2004 TJ, 33x12.5 Mickey Thompsons, A/R 15x8 wheels, 2.5" Skyjacker lift, Besttop Supertop.

Awful campsite; awful pouring rain; we went drinking in Rimouski and the habs lost.

Hope you enjoyed.

I can only imagine what you paid in gas for that trip, I know that's not the point of this thread but speaking from experience, the 4.0 is a hog, not to mention with bigger meats.

That being said, looks like a good time! When you love your vehicle, nothing is more fun than a road trip.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. Gas was about $800, although that's a lot, getting down and dirty in the PEI clay and driving into Ch'town doors off, covered in mud was unforgettable. Also went to a few cool spots you definitely needed a 4x4 to do without stressing!

Good times indeed.

PEI is an awsome place, went 3 times with my parents (last time around 16) and always loved this place.
