I am, I tough ISP would've found a way to counter mac spoofing or at least give the same IP. I just never tried it before other than on linux distros for experiments.

generally speaking cable IPs are a lot more static than dynamique. not every time you reset the modem you`ll get a new one!

It holds onto your DHCP lease for a while. also, some videotron modems have a battery in the bottom, you need to remove it for 15 seconds while your cable modem is unplugged or it will retain DHCP lease
