Aware me MR,

My car left me stranded this morning and i needed it to drive up to jonquiere in a couple of days. i am thinking of renting a car ( cheapest shitbox i can manage to get to destination and back)

i've looked a bit but there is so many shady websites that i dont even know what to trust or not.

I've only rented from Avis and discount. They usually end up costing much more than expected... I forgot to tell you about Globe. Go check them out. Also try calling places in the outskirts (saint-Jerome, etc.) they shouldn't be sold out

J'ai loué chez Discount un town and country 2013 fully loaded avec kilos illimités pour 41$ par jour. J'ai eu un très bon service rapide et courtois, reste à voir s'il va y avoir des frais cachés au retour.

Whatever you do, take 902490902902 pictures of every scratch on the car before leaving the parking lot.

Je sais pas si c'est comme ça partout, mais on a fait le tour du char pendant un bon 5 minutes en prenant en note sur une feuille toutes les scratches, aussi petites soient-elles.

Okay so I've looked at the rental companies and fuck it. Extra fees here and there so I decided to repair my car ( Google accord ignition problems ), I just need to reprogram the ecu to accept the new key code. Car cranks but does not want to run because of the stupid immobiliser.

Do I have to go at the dealer or any good shop can do it?

You have an extra key? What about an after market kill switch?

I went to the scrap yard and bought a steering column with all the accessories attached for 100$ ( while just the lock assembly costs 200$+ on rockauto, 400$+ at Honda ) and took what I needed. Since I couldn't remove some bolts of the column, I took what I needed from that rack and placed them in my cars key lock housing.

Everything work and fits, even a key that matches the lock came with the column, I just need to get the ecu to accept everything as a whole.

( so yes, you got it right, I have one set of key to open the car and one to start it )

Should of took the ecu from the scrapped car as well?

Pretty sure its easier to code the key to my old immobilizer. How much can it be?

Or just screw it and change the key fob chips

+1 pretty sure you'd be better off buying th ECU than going to the dealer and re-flashing $$$$$$

Just came back from Honda, they charged me 80$ to put the electronics in order. The mechanic told me that the job that I did costs 600$ in total, I did it for 180$. I guess I don't need to rent a car anymore lol.
