Road bike thread

Owning a bike shop won't ever make you rich, but my buddy who owns the shop says things have been outstanding this season. Makes sense, lots of people investing in fitness this year with money left over from vacation budgets or whatever. 50% of them will be on used market within a year like you said.
Excellent for me. I don't mind getting another bike for good price!

cleaning schedule varies on riding condition. If I do a wet ride, I might clean but definitely lube my chain. If it is dry, I have a look once in a while and lube it, clean it +-once a month. I use this product

If I do a race, I definitely clean it and lube it. Checking wear with this at the beginning of the outdoor season, but I typically have to replace it each spring.

for indoor season, I put lube when I think about it... I don't care about wear until shifting performances deteriorate. I simply don't care if it breaks...!

I do a basic clean-up maybe every 2 week since I ride 60% gravel 40% road, I mix with wet and ceramic.

once a month I degrease chain, cassette, crankset and I wash the bike.

Every spring I take everything appart, clean everything, change my chain and do a brake bleed.

Question, Dry lube, every tutorial I've seen is like "Get all the excess off all that matter is what's under the rollers etc." Then once in a while someone will be like "Dry lube just let the conduit liquid dry itself, don't need to rub it off" ... which one is right? I lubed every link individually the other day and the wiped alll the excess off and within 10k had a squeaky drivetrain... I'm just gonna leave the dry lube in place and not wipe any excess next time unless you convince me not to.
