HAHAHAHAH

Lots of things fail here because there is no interest in the long run as there are better options. Nothing to do with language but often used as an excuse. Look at Hilal Guys or whatever it was called. Why would you go there when every neighbourhood has a boustan, amir or some hole in the wall? You might go once and that’s it. Taco Bell was the same, it’s a novelty. In 15 years I think I’ve gone twice. The franchise agreement was a set number of years and the owner didn’t bother continuing. It’s no big loss

Outback Steakhouse same problem in late 90s. Just because it works in USA or Ontario doesn’t mean it will work here. Quebec and especially Montreal is a great food city. Yea we might not do steak well but we got most things pretty well covered!

Krispy Kreme had the same issue in mid 2000s. Once the novelty wore off people were pretty lukewarm about it especially with a Tim Hortons on every corner. Now oddly enough Tim Hortons is suffering a similar fate but for other reasons

I’ll be honest I love Burger King but it’s in some strange limbo and might be next.

Pizza Hut is sorta pointless here as well. Too much competition. KFC is huge in other markets, such as EU and Asia. The locations here are sorta ghetto vs what I’ve had in UK. It’s the same with Burger King.

I wouldn’t blame French it’s a lousy excuse as other companies have no issue operating here but rather Quebec itself is a difficult market food wise. We have our own regional “cuisine” that we will likely go to first.

Where is the best hotdog in montreal?
