I'd buy that Camry just to be the one to roll over 1,000,000kms. Then I'd write an epic fake story about our million kilometers together and would start a GoFundMe page to raise funds from suckers for a new car.

The problem with "low value" imports is that it still costs like $4,000+ just to get it here and registered. For a car like that Tercel, I can't see the value of importing it unless it's really your dream car and you want to keep it forever. Not many people will pay $8k for a 4x4 tercel when you can get a an Evo or WRX for the same price. You could plate this one in Quebec though, so there's that...

The only 4x4 Tercel I'd be interested in:

Put some bigger rims on it and watch the 660cc engine struggle to move them! We never got Kei cars here, so RHD is your only option for a vehicle like that.. RHD certainly does not add to the value of a car in general.

These cars are only legal on roads with a 70km/h limit or less, keep that in mind!

My dad and a cousin both had one. Cousins died within a year and my dad's (around two years old under 50km) lasted about 3-4 years. Both rear door handles stopped working almost immediately, wipers were hit or miss, but it ran like a forklift.

The 70kph limit lasted 6 months. Kei cars can go on the highway.

My uncle had one of those back in the days, in the Alps they still have a following. But my Civic Wagon 4WD was better.

I'd pay a good amount of money for any sub compact car with 4wd and a manual transmission, even if it's not a logical choice since you can get a clean sx4 or impreza for 5-6k. I'd go up to 7-8k for a clean Alto Works 4wd. Sadly, they don't make the Vitz AWD with a manuall tranny.

Thats nice because the ban was ridiculous, you can legally go on the highway with a 125cc 4 stroke motorcycle even tho it's way more dangerous than going on the highway with a kei car.
