Nurburgring track days are funny to watch. You pay, get on like a one-way toll road, no mechanical inspection, no helmet, no race license, some corners look alike, the elevation change is huge and the weather is unpredictable. Natural selection at it's finest.
Cool to rent a car there with full insurance, once in a lifetime thing, but taking your own car there hell no. If taking your own car, Spa Francorchamps, it's 2 hours away and you can learn the whole track and go there with an instructor, but the weather is still as unpredictable.
Fun fact, recovery is free at Nurburgring but you pay for the damages to the guard rails (xxx euro per m of damage) and you pay for storage of said fucked car. The number of English plated cars getting into crashes there is outrageous, it's only a few hours away from the UK...
