$3K isn't too far off for that if everything works, probably can negotiate it down $5-1K. Most cars from the 80's have optimistic prices..

Biggest winner though is the famous $70K brand new 1990 Supra Turbo. I'm convinced this has got to be a marketing piece to get people to talk about this car on various forums, seems to work. Google the name of the dealer and you'll find multiple discussions and blogs about it.

The Defenders hold value like crazy and even still go for £££ in UK. So think a £7000-£8000 defender is 14-16k CDN off the bat plus import..

2nd gen F bodies are starring to creep up in value as well.

Yeah Defenders are going to soar in value now that they no longer make them as of 2015. There are bidding wars for the last ones being produced in the UK. The redesigned Defender coming in 2 years has gone mainstream luxury, looks nothing and rides nothing like the previous Defender the past 70 years. The recent models in matte finish are beautiful, so much nicer than a MB G-Wagen. More info here...

Unless you are talking about early 70's 2nd gens like a 71 Z28 or 74 455SD TransAm, not quite sure why the 2nd gen F-bodies are appreciating, they were all vastly under powered and choking with emissions robbing components and kept getting fatter and fatter. Not to mention there are still so many of the late 70's early 80's models out there in all trims in good condition, hard to see them take off in value.

This is what I thought as well but not many 2nd gens have their original motors left in them. I'd prefer a 3rd gen myself TBH..

Yup same here. Make mine a 1991/1992 Z28 or TransAm GTA manual in Quasar blue coupe, or convertible. These will one day be worth something, hardly any were produced, potential buyers holding off for the 4th gen for 1993.
