Hey MR.
Never thought that I would be asking this question one day as it depends on each person's situation but it's good to know what one would do...
Currently I own a 2013 Q5 Hybrid, S-line, B/O...every option available.
-It has 60K km.
-Paid off.
What I like about this car:
- Fuel Consumption / no oil consumption yet..
- Space / comfort
- paid off.
What I dislike:
- famous Audi reliability, (oil, timing chain tensioner...)
- Pano sunroof rattles when car is cold
- Warranty will be over in Feb 2017.
Overall, I believe that Audi should be reliable if well maintained which is the case but obviously a brand new car would provide peace of mind with 4 years warranty.
-The car has only been in the garage once for the door sensors.
If I keep the car:
Futures needs of car:
- 2 new sets of tires (winter / summer)
- Brakes 4 corners
- Eventually batteries, and Transmission fluid change...
- Most probably an extended warranty
My fear:
- Oil consumption (which should not happened on my year according to other forums...but never know)
- Timing chain tensioner.
Reason I would change for a Golf R... it has AWD, space and practicality is decent and I miss the old days with my MK6 GTI.
- New 4 years warranty
- No maintenance or parts replacement like mentioned above.
Reason I would buy Japanese is reliability but I can not find a hatch / suv that I like...
Personal situation:
- plan on having kids within 2-3 years.
Am I better off paying for the future needs of the car and call it a day since it's owned.
Or
Keep this money and throw it in a new car, and maybe add more money if I don't get a good resale value...
Am I making any sense? lol
Thanks
