Mazda just lifted the sheet on the all-new Miata RF “Retractable Fastback” convertible to open the New York International Auto Show. It’s cool, but it’s not the Miata Coupe we were all praying, begging, and hoping for.

We had heard the rumors of a fastback coupe for the all new ND Miata, but hopefully you didn’t get your hopes up. But who gives a flip now! This thing looks amazing.

Instead of an affordable Jaguar E-Type style Miata coupe, we get an affordable 911 Targa style Miata. I dig it.

The new RF and its folding roof design surprisingly doesn’t change the trunk space over the current soft-top and there was no word on the weight change. The rear window is also power retractable for that wind in your hair feeling that you think you like until after about five minutes.

The car still comes with the same 155 hp SkyActive engine, and is still available with a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. There is, however, a new color on this “concept” Mazda calls “Machine Grey.” Feel charmed all you machines out there, though it’s probably just coincidence.

The new Miata RF will be available for pre-order later this summer.

Mais 155hp tabarnak. Le moteur offre de bonnes performances, mais j'aurais aimé un peu plus de puissance pour cette édition :(

2.5 skyactive +- 200hp
 
L'ayant chauffé en personne en circuit fermé, je peux vous dire que 155hp c'est plus qu'assez dans un char qui pèse si peu.

Targa = *tu**tu*
Soft top = *tu**tu**tu*
 
I watched the reveal last night.

I'm really glad they didn't show it in red because I would have probably already been in a dealer.
 
Elle est vraiment belle par exemple, ca va etre une maudit beau candidat pour recevoir un LS :bigup:

Mon point est que pour certain, faire du 1/4 de mile ou de l'autoroute ça a aucun attrait.

Mon Miata de 110hp sur des R compound me donne plus de plaisir sur la track que n'importe quel monstre de ligne droite.

Mon point est qu'un char de 450hp pour la track est beaucoup plus fun qu'un char de 155hp pour la track.

C'est pas une question de char habile versus char de ligne droite ici, tu peux avoir un char habile de 500hp aussi ca l'a rien à voir...

155hp c'est pas assez point final lol

La Miata c'est le roadster le plus vendu au monde.

Je suis pas mal certain que je peux affirmer que ça a assez de power pour le marché visé.
