Hey guys,

I am shopping for home insurance, what you do guys have in term of coverage and how much it cost?

Mine is almost $1k per year.

I don't really remember the exat coverage but it should cover a new house using existing foundations.

I am with Promutuel, 700$/year for 600 000$ + 100 000 of furnitures + 50 000 of jewerly. Their coverage is way better than the one I had with Industrielle Alliance which was 20$ more expensive per year.
 
Shit that's cheap. I think my house is only insured for $250-300k (excluding furniture) which covers enough to rebuild should fire destroys it.

I will def. look other companies of you have $600k for $700 per year.

Yup ! I had this deal with Assurexpert Latour in Brossard. I never had claims tho.

Pretty much the same thing here, except I also have the swimming pool coverage.

Criss ta police d'assurance couvre meme pas assez pour rebatir ton cabanon.... lollll


Non mais sérieusement ca prend une bonne police et pas juste pour la reconstruction.
Ca prend un montant qui est délivré rapidement car en cas de feu tu as le linge que tu as sur le dos comme bien et that's it donc faut que les assurances te sorte un montant X dans les 24h.
Un montant de subsistance pour l'hotel et la nourriture

Moi je suis assuré 414 000$ pour la reconstruction + meuble (valeur marchande de la maison d'environ 225 000$. Ca va quand meme assez vite pcq si tu rebatis apres un feu, tu as généralement pas le temps de faire un auto construction et de magasiner pour sauver du cash. Tu trouve un contracteur et tu pogne un clé en main.

C'est pas tres chere on paye 4-500$ de mémoire.

Should always:
Av 42
Av 16c (if finished basement increase the minimum amount of 10k$ to at least 20/30k$
Validate for av 37 or 38 (limits goods in case of event and specific goods in case of theft)
In ground pool and spa?
Outground pool ?
Global amount
These are the First things that come to mind
 
Je pay presque 800$, ca couvre pour 450k$ de memoire (bâtiment + biens), j'ai piscine et spa qui font augmenter un peu.

Maison + 2 chars a même place, 10% sur tout + un 5% additionnel sur chaque vehicule.
 
And what about mortgage insurance? life and critical illness... with whom you guys a doing business?
 
81$ par mois (972$ par année) avec la personnelle.

Assuré pour 640k en reconstruction,2 millions resp civil, 10k dommage d'eau au sous sol, moins de 1500$ de bijoux, 2 poeles a bois et un poele au granule dans maison, spa intérieur. 500$ de déductible. Je viens de faire une réclamation de + de 7000$ et on me charge pas de déductible car les dommage s'éleve a plus de 5k$. (j'étais meme pas au courant que j'avais cette clause alors je trouve ca génial)

Je trouve ca vraiment pas chere.
