For jobs like a clutch, don't they have a book with the recommended amount of time to do it?With that much mileage and the issue being VERY WELL KNOWN I would have did the bolts and head gaskets as maintenance first fucking thing. ARP makes bolts, Weistec has a nice package as well.
Yea dealers give out crazy quotes. They either don't want to bother dealing with you but there is also the liability issue.. I've seen some pretty crazy quotes such as the 23k in repairs on a C4S, 28k Clutch replacement on an M3, etc
