Donald John Trump is no longer president: what does it mean for you?

so if I get this right, Biden says 'you have 6 hours to fire the attorney general or else you're not getting 1 Billion" and nobody blinks an eye. The democrats are saying that Trump said something similar although the transcript does not say exactly that.. and that's impeachable?

this doesn't add up. what's missing?

They're focusing on the allegation that Trump was doing it to influence the 2020 election, that's the difference I guess.

The important difference is that Biden actually pressured and threatened them, Trump did nothing wrong IMO.

Clearly this had to be the first time leverage had been used in American Foreign Policy. You know, the guys whose playbook includes "speak softly and carry a big stick" and incredible financial pressure (IE sanctions) to accomplish their objectives. That's leaving the military side of things out of it.

Protests were held in the streets asking for this guy's removal. The U.S ambassador called him an "obstacle to anti-corruption efforts" But yeah, clearly that was way off in the left field for Biden to ask for him to be removed... Come on!

Impeachment isn't a judicial process. It's a political one. If the opposing politicians find this unethical and self-serving, which let's face it, it is, then they can take whatever action they see fit. You're the commander in Chief of the United States and you're sending your personal lawyer to handle sensitive issues? Sounds legit. You don't think this blurs the official policy / personal agenda lines?

He's such a beacon of transparency he's probably going to release his tax returns any day now.

Please elaborate on this.
-No one goes to jail or gets a criminal record over it.
-the "investigation" is conducted by politicians
-Politicians are judge and jury: 2/3 of senators will need to vote for him to be truly impeached and removed from office. This means 67 our of 100. Dems only have 45. Ergo, a vote along party lines means this all goes away.

This is about politics, not an impartial finding of guilt or innocence.

So yeah, it's procedural and based on legislation so that makes it "judicial" butt it ain't really about justice if that makes any sense.

I can't believe Schiff ended it by saying Trump's actions are undemocratic.

3 years of endless efforts to unseat a duly elected President is what's not democratic here.

So we agree that this is the most despicable form of political attack on Trump by desperate left leaning Democrats?

That premise is so loaded I can't agree to it. You're overdoing it and that's what usually undermines your arguments. Throwing in "most despicable" and "desperate" + gratuitous use of "left". It sounds like it's a talking point straight off /r/thedonald, not a balanced perspective.

Yes, it is a political attack and a calculated political maneuver by the democrats. That much is certain. We'll have to see how it plays out. It won't be quick and it won't be pretty but it sure will be entertaining.

Have you forgotten that it's been proven that the entire Russia shitshow was nothing more than a long drawn out smear campaign with absolutely zero basis?

This is just the next step... Sorry, but it is absolutely desperate, despicable, pathetic, undemocratic, evil, wrong...

You really believe they’ve been chasing their tail over nothing whatsoever?

I think that assuming the lack of charges means a full vindication is quite the stretch. I know that’s the trump perspective on this but I’m sure the truth is significantly more nuanced.

Donald John Trump is now president: what does it mean for you?

Most vetted? Lol. They had to give him a security clearance after he was elected. Anyone else pulling some of the stunts he has on Twitter with what would otherwise be classified material would lose it.

I liked that he was an outsider to the republican establishment but let’s not pretend he doesn’t have a checkered past. Odds that Russia had kompromat on Obama? Quite Low.
Odds that they have some on trump? Far higher. Pee tape? Investment ventures with some shady characters? Why hasn’t he released his taxes?

It’s pretty clear now that Reagan was literally losing his mind towards the end of his term. The party kept him in power just the same. They’ll prop up trump till the bitter end. No doubt about it. I’m sure it suits them just fine. Gotta give credit where credit his due, the man/ his team know how deflect / shape a narrative / connect with his base.

The “but Biden pressured Ukraine” angle is a diversion and you know it. It’s not supported by facts. Not unlike countless claims that Trump has made. Check out this comment for some context:

That a CIA officer would risk his career over this issue speaks volumes in itself.

I really wonder what makes you so passionate about this? I don’t care whether the dems or reps win the next election. All I know is that what’s going on is clearly unprecedented.

I find it fascinating that on one hand someone could legitimize calling on a foreign country to investigate biden and his son for things related to corruption based on no evidence, but that the CIA officer that has firsthand accounts of what occured on the call, made a complaint based on no evidence.

Someone said something about gymnastics?

Also, where did the theory start that he was investigating Bidens son? He was investigating the company, and it continued for about 10 months after Sokin was fired.

What? Everything about Joe Biden and John Kerry's sons is publicly available. Where they worked, when, how much they were paid, their positions, their titles, who they dealt with, Biden's actions.

Joe Biden publicly declared what he did and the prosecutor did get fired.

Someone said something about gymnastics?

You're choosing to believe Trump's narrative that the prosecutor was fired to protect Biden's son, as opposed to the widely agreed-upon facts that the guy was sandbagging investigation into the previous Ukrainian government. Was Christine Lagarde also issuing warnings to protect Biden's son?

You do know Deutsche Welle is a state-owned public international broadcaster.

You do know on which side Germany is right now? Gladly part of the European Union and getting flooded by migrants lol

Biden did wayyyyy worse since 1988 than just attempt to protect his son. You seem to think Biden appeared in 2005 or something.

Love it or hate it, This is the truth:

Ah yes the international MSM along with the CBC/BBC and all other media outlets not named Fox that can't be trusted for a single ounce of truth.

So what part of the reporting can you refute or that you believe isn't true or factually accurate?

I won't even read it because I know it is propaganda since it directly comes from Germany's government which is a Socialist disaster and PRO-EU.

The bias is incredible, yet you trust it.

That really says it all, you won't even read it but you're so confident that it's inaccurate and biased.

I guess it's just easier for me to trust news reporting than to just buy into looney tunes conspiracy theories.

They ain't looney tunes conspiracy theories bruh, it's on reddit they know their shits

Time to give it up now.

Here is Shokin's (the prosecutor Biden had fired to protect his son) statement in a sworn affidavit prepared for a European court:

https://www.scribd.com/document/427618359/Shokin-Statement
Joe Biden getting absolutely massacred if you read the whole thing.

In a newly sworn affidavit prepared for a European court, Shokin testified that when he was fired in March 2016, he was told the reason was that Biden was unhappy about the Burisma investigation. “The truth is that I was forced out because I was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into Burisma Holdings, a natural gas firm active in Ukraine and Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was a member of the Board of Directors,” Shokin testified.

And this has been authenticated by who?

Originated by John Solomon a favourite amongst right-wing conspiracy theorist. Not gonna read it because it's obviously an other fabricated conspiracy theory.

It's a sworn affidavit by Shokin Viktor Mikolayovych that was verified by an Ukrainian notary named KH. V. Hornyak. (Page 12 of the Document). Shokin signed the document in the presence of the notary. It is stamped, numbered, everything. I mean, how more legit can this be?

Patiently waiting on your next Socialist link from a random newspaper while I'm posting sworn affidavits.

Sworn affidavit from a disgraced individual who has little to no credibility...

Ukraine’s parliament voted overwhelmingly to fire Viktor Shokin, ridding the beleaguered prosecutor’s office of a figure who is accused of blocking major cases against allies and influential figures and stymying moves to root out graft.
“This decision creates an opportunity to make a fresh start in the prosecutor general’s office. I hope that the new prosecutor general will ensure that [his] office . . . becomes independent from political influence and pressure and enjoys public trust,” said Jan Tombinski, the EU’s envoy to Ukraine.
“There is still a lack of tangible results of investigations into serious cases . . . as well as investigations of high-level officials within the prosecutor general’s office,” he added.
Mr Tombinski said the EU was also concerned about the resignation or dismissal of several “reform-oriented” prosecutors and reports that Mr Shokin’s office was investigating a “highly-respected” anti-corruption group – an obvious reference to Kiev’s Anti-Corruption Action Centre, which had fiercely criticised Mr Shokin.

Would you trust an affidavit from Hillary Clinton? I sure as hell wouldn't on face value alone...
