Kind of tough talking shit about the US for any of them there when the US does better than all of them together on that continent. It would be like the "thou shall not pass" black knight in monty python. :D

This is the first shutdown with the same party controlling both houses and the presidency.

Yes, yes, propagate liberal facts like they are the gospel.

Senate needs 60 votes to pass, Republicans have 51 seats. This mean 9 democrats have to vote with Reps or else it fails. Heck even fake news can get this right http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/18/polit...ing-resolution-government-shutdown/index.html . That sure is "control"

How about the Dems want to make the Reps look bad + the added bonus of concealing the memo that supposedly demonstrates the Trump Russia story is a baseless witch hunt.

+ supposedly this is not going to as bad as 2013 because supposedly Obama weaponized the shut down making it worse than it had to be to play politics

Why am i supposed to care about what the democrats are doing or thinking?

Because you have to be framed as pretending in order for his cheap come back to work...

Your statement perpetuates the false idea that the republicans are at fault because they have control of everything. It's dubbed the Schumer Shutdown for a reason. Basically the Dems pulled a fit and let the shutdown happen because they didn't get their way on DACA.

You don't need to know what they're thinking, you just need to use your own brain to see that the shit your parroting is very misleading.

beyond the politics, government shutdowns, because neither side can reach an agreement just proves how fucking dysfunctional the US government is. Barely a democracy.

Isn't it the kind of thing that your "dealmaker" should be good at avoiding instead of golfing? Also, 5 republicans voted against the spending bill.

And speaking of parroting shit, have you seen that magical memo with your own eyes?

The only people calling it the Shumer Shutdown is the republican base, and let's not play my side is without fault. The republicans did the exact same thing with Obamacare in 2013. It's idiotic political manoeuvring in a deeply broken and flawed system.

There is enough blame for both fucking sides. The democrates want CHIP to be continued and protection for the dreamers. Apparently there is enough support on both sides to get that done but hardliners don't want to concede and have gotten in Trump's ear. There was a bypartisan deal on the table at the beginning of the week before some people in the white-house sabotaged it. Unfortunately, this seems to be only way anything gets done in Washington we've seen time and time again regardless of who's in power politicians just love kicking things down the road.

Fucking debt ceiling bullshit every few years, just so that it can be used as a bargaining chip.

It's a senate rule that 60 votes are required for a bill to pass, but that rule can be overwritten and ignored and it already has been once under this administration. They said fuck the 60 vote majority when it came to confirming Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, it's commonly refered to as the Nuclear Option.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_option

So yes the Republican are in control, it's only a matter of how much they want to say fuck our institutions we're going to piss all over everything and push through our agenda.

They also would have said fuck the 60 vote threshold when repealing Obamacare, that's why when McCain voted against is it was such a big deal, without his vote they couldn't get to 50 and have Pence be the tie-breaker.

60 votes has been the typical number of votes needed but nothing matters anymore

The irony. Not using the "nuclear" option when not to long ago the fear mongering about Trump and the nuke button.

Let me get this straight. Liberal logic goes something along the lines of:

Republicans are at fault because they didn't use a loophole that circumnavigates the system all because some Liberal cry babies didn't get their way for DACA. Heck they don't give a flying fuck about the people other than the fact that it insures imported votes for Democrats and they (Dems) put the "dreamer's" priority over that of American government workers.
