Everyone yaps about Trump even though he is not a leader in Canada. We have someone far worse ruining Canada and not a peep from anyone ( OK a few ). Do you know why? Because the media tells you what to think and you listen. Yes Trump is an ass but the US economy will crush us unless we do something the next election, the POS we have now has his own agenda and being Canadian is not on the list.

That's no more likely now than at any time in the last 10-20 years. America's economy is a house of cards, all smoke and mirrors... if anything Trump's views and policies are an effort to change it into something tangible.

Trump has many failings, but the economy is not one. it's been waaaay better than Obama's second term. not sure about the first, so I won't mention that one. So at this point you might want to bring up an alien invasion which is just as likely as the other option you have proposed.
 
Or, China, a communist nation, doesn't blink in this trade war, tariffs remain high, and it starts to affect American companies.

Among other possible outcomes. Interest rates are rising in the states, which can lead to default on loans, which can compound.

There are more sides to the American economy than just big business. It's citizens haven't proven they are capable of handling their own finances.
