How “out of control” is Islamophobia in Canada?

Oh look more hysteria from Rebel Media:

1. A motion in parliament does not equate the introduction of a new law. That's a straight up lie and mischaracterization of what a motion is and what motion-103 is about.

http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parliamentari...849)/Motions?sessionId=152&documentId=8661986

Not surprising hysterical blondie doesn't highlight an other section of the motion

(ii) collect data to contextualize hate crime reports and to conduct needs assessments for impacted communities, and that the Committee should present its findings and recommendations to the House no later than 240 calendar days from the adoption of this motion, provided that in its report, the Committee should make recommendations that the government may use to better reflect the enshrined rights and freedoms in the Constitution Acts, including the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

but I guess that's counter to her muhhhhh constitutional rights are under attack fake outrage speech.

I invite you to read up on our democracy and better understand the parliamentary process.

http://www.parl.gc.ca/marleaumontpetit/DocumentViewer.aspx?Sec=Ch12&Seq=4&Language=E

Here are a few examples of motions that have been introduced and nothing to do with introducing a new law:

In Canada
Motion to recognize ISIS genocide of Yazidi people:
https://www.thestar.com/news/canada...-to-recognize-yazidi-assault-as-genocide.html

Motion to recognize the Armenian genocide in 2004:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/canadian-parliament-recognizes-armenian-genocide-1.509866

In the UK labour leader signed a motion naming arsenal the best football club in the world:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...se-Arsenal-as-the-best-team-in-the-world.html

I'm sure there are plenty more examples, but I can't be bothered to look any further.

Every poster on this thread has bash me for being a free speach defender, interpretation of tought, and being a defender of the kirkland guy...your allegiance are switching quickly....

Sweden: Cop Investigated for Speaking Out Against Moslem

Peter Springare, police investigator and former deputy head of the Division for serious crimes at the police in Örebro, has been reported to the police after he in a post on Facebook spoke plainly about those who are behind the serious crimes. The report to the police comes after the local newspaper Nerikes Allehanda found the outspoken policeman to be racist, the usual solution to silence any criticism in the politically correct country.

Il ne faut pas oublier que les pays nordiques sont un exemple à suivre pour le gouvernement libéral

Is there truly someone purely left or right? Besides evil people? I believe we are all neutral, some shit of the left we agree or disagree and same for the right. We may approve some idea of one side or another, but even someone who claim to be ''left'', surely approve so stuff from the right. Pointing someone left or right theses days is kind of too easy without any other regards about what the person may have of choice and thinking in life.

You are going to spam that in how many thread?

Shopify CEO justifies support of Breitbart, cites free speech

Ottawa e-commerce company Shopify has come under fire from critics who are angered the e-commerce website hosts the right-wing U.S. media organization, Breitbart.

Tobias Lütke released a statement on Shopify’s website, saying it have received more than 10,000 emails from people who disagree with the company’s ties to the controversial news network linked to Steve Bannon, now U.S. President Trump’s chief strategist.

Lütke admits they “don’t like” what Breitbart stands for, but will continue to host the media company’s online store in the name of free speech.

“We don’t like Breitbart, but products are speech and we are pro free speech,” wrote Lütke. “This means protecting the right of organizations to use our platform even if they are unpopular or if we disagree with their premise, as long as they are within the law. That being said, if Breitbart calls us tomorrow and tells us that they are going to switch to another platform, we would be delighted.”

The lengthy statement says that while Shopify employees are under pressure to cut ties with Breitbart, Lütke says he is against exclusion of any kind — whether that’s restricting people from Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S., or kicking merchants off Shopify’s platform if they’re operating within the law.

According to an article by BuzzFeed, public petitions calling on Shopify to drop Breitbart have not gone anywhere, including one signed by more than 20,000 people demanding it to “stop endorsing hate.”

“Commerce is a powerful, underestimated form of expression,” said Lütke. “We use it to cast a vote with every product we buy. It’s a direct expression of democracy. This is why our mission at Shopify is to protect that form of expression and make it better for everyone, not just for those we agree with.”
