Scam Desjardins

TD...

I've worked for almost all the major banks.

I'd have accounts in any of them except TD and RBC. RBC is the worst.

Lol at RBC comment. People either love them or hate them and I can't understand why people hate them. Been with them since the age of 16 and have never paid a monthly fee and the service I get is above average IMO.

wats your point? never said TD was the best bank... you post about the fact that its impossible to get text from banks... I just post a link saying it's possible......

I didn't say it was IMPOSSIBLE. I said it was forbidden by the self regulating banking industry. If TD chooses to break the rules then you can choose not to do business with them.

I know I wouldn't.

sure... sure... they will NEVER text you sure...

I didn`t read the whole regulation on banking in Canada but pretty sure if it was forbidden, none of them will set up the service.....

All communication with customers is logged and archived somewhere. I don't have the paperwork from the courses we had to take every year but SMS was on the list of no-nos like Facebook chat, Skype, googled talk and many more.

Not sure what people are signing up for but it's gotta be trivial.

I have said this before and I'll say it again.

Banks will never contact any of their customers by text messaging. It is not allowed by the OCRCVM (Formerly ACCOVAM) IIROC (formerly IDA) the CBA/CSI and any of the other self regulating associations that define the standards for the banking industry in Quebec and Canada.

If you receive any SMS/text or even an unexpected email from your "bank" the first thing to do is take your Debit or CC (if it's through your bank) flip it over and call the 1-800 number to advise them.

Or you can delete/ignore it.

people that buy lists of hacked client information will sometimes randomly call people to verify the authenticity of the info they've bought.

I get these from a few banks, Nova Scotia is the most common for me, they just want to scam you. I do not even deal with the banks I get notices from. The wonderful world of the internet.
