Best bridge to take to avoid potholes?

I live in the West Island and gf lives in the St Hubert. I usually take the Champlain to get there and want to take my new car sometime soon when it's nice out because she hasn't even gone for a cruise with me yet, but I also don't want to on those pot hole ridden roads on the 15 near Verdun where all that construction is going on.

Would the Jacques Cartier or Victoria be more of a viable choice, and then just take the 132? Any weird dips or potholes there? I haven't crossed either bridge in a long ass time. I usually drive my Yaris but it's stock ride height on 175/65/14 winters so I don't mind going on awful roads, but now with this car I have to plan on where I can and can't drive and it's kinda shitty

The Champlain bridge is great (lack of pothole-wise) but getting there is the problem. The 15S leading to the Champlain is the worse it's ever been. I avoid it for that reason alone.

I mean, you could simply take the 720 exit, and go through the Bonaventure, which will cost you an extra 5 minutes on a Sunday morning. It's not perfect, but it's 1,000 times better than the 200 meter stretch of minefield. If you're going from the West Island to St-Hubert and are paranoid about potholes, that's what I'd do.

The Victoria is another decent option, but again the roads leading up to it are kinda shitty. That's the problem with all the south shore bridge.

But the Mercier isn't too bad. Just look far enough ahead and scope out bad sections.

I don't take the Jacques-Cartier, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

All that said, I'm sure they're going to fix the asphalt leading up to the Champlain by the time you take your car out.
...no no for real. I really do think they're going to fix it. lol (it's seriously that bad; someone's going to lose a Smart in that thing)

I take Jacques cartier everyday to come back from work, and during summer with my lowered 350z. No problem at all IMO, just don't use the right lane right before getting on the bridge, it's UGLY
After that, on the south shore, you're pretty much clear on tashereau/116

Spot on.

Any bridge that gets you out of Quebec would be the best one to take.

(I know my comment sucks and doesn't help)

Haha thanks for the replies, I'm surprised I even got any and it kinda feels like a stupid thread. I actually had no clue they fixed the Mercier so I might try that one first tbh. If not, there's the Jacques Cartier since the right lane was patched up as people have said in this thread, and I could take the Champlain coming back onto the island since it's really only the 15S that looks 3rd world country. But yeah I know I should wait but I can't help but take it out at least a couple times before pot hole season is done, I think about driving the car when I wake up and before going to sleep lol

Honestly if Quebec had California roads, I'd never want to leave the province. I think every Quebecer would be ecstatic and car guys would be in ecstasy

Ontario isn't much better. Maybe Alberta?

Alberta's problem is all the gravel they dump on the roads during the winter, roads are great aside from that. I guarantee it's the cracked windshield/rock chip capital of Canada.

Casino, taking the S2K out? Pic to put us all in a summer mood? Don't chip that fresh bumper!

Did you guys realize how shitty Quebec really is when we have a thread about which bridge leads to least amount of pothholes.

Does your car not come with a steering wheel so you can avoid potholes?

^as it is now it doesnt look good, but there is always an easy fix.
This other mr member had the same issue and it was shaking, but he fixed and balanced the wheel with a simple pair of pliers like so:

Yes but sometimes there's potholes on both sides and/or a car next to you so you can't do anything at that point. I'd rather just save myself the headache and stress by taking a road thats actually paved properly.

Going to take it out today (Thursday) and most likely take some pictures by the water or something. Probably going to burn 1-2 tanks of gas just cruising around
