Any one here a website pro? (Wordpress related)

I'm making an e-commerce website and most of the work is done. But we're stuck on something. It's a small issue that I'm sure a pro can solve in .2 seconds.

So I'm looking for someone who can help us just this one time or take on someone who can help us each time we get stuck. You will be compensated each time depending on the price of course. And when we launch you will be given free products ( car related )

I know there is free lancing website's out there for things like this but I rather have someone I can talk to physically at times and I rather support someone in the community rather than give money to some guy in India or something.

So let me know if you or you know someone that can help. Thanks.

Because all those 0.2 second problems end up for 30 mins or more.

Then at some point you say fuck it and contact the plugin developer.

Then he gets back to you with a non-working solution.

Then you get mad and decide to fix it yourself and send it to the owner so they can fix it for the next update.

Then the next update comes and it screws your fix.

Rinse and repeat.

Just restart and launch it with shopify. It's going to take you an extra day.
Why do people invest so much time and money before validating their idea and see if there is a demand for their product?

I was just talking about the website. The product already sells on a small scale. Crazy amount of money hasnt been invested either.
 
on a utilisé shopify pour un client et le problème était les taxes si je me souviens bien. il fallait installer un plugin mais messemble que c'était pas évident de faire fonctionner ça avec notre système de taxes au québec. j'étais pas sur le projet alors j'en sais pas plus.

je travaille souvent avec woocommerce et ça va faire la job si tu veux aucune feature spéciale, dès que ça sort des fonctionnalités de bases c'est très chiant. ça veux pas dire que c'est pas bon mais a.wayne a très bien décris wordpress "in a nutshell" 80% des clients qu'on a ici j'ai eu la même expérience. toujours du gossage parce qu'il y a toujours quelque chose à changer ou ajouter. le client veux une boutique en ligne et s'en fou que ça soit un plugin, mais quand le site est en ligne tout d'un coup ça veux tout changer.
 
Le gros probleme avec Shopify et le Quebec c'est que c'est pas bilingue. Mais ca m'etonnerait que WooCommerce le soit a 100%...

To validate the demand, you need a prototype sometimes, which requires some effort. I'm in that process right now, my partner wants to meet future clients asap but I feel like we should have some more work done before we make our pitch.

Depends of alot of factor. But if you have cash balance and don't mind investing a bit more I'd go with Shopify if you don't have a programmer on the team.

Wordpress just become more and more messy the more stuff you add. I even gave a shot to Opencart recently and omfg it's the same shit.

Otherwise, if you have a very good programmer I'd go with a Framework that has very solid ecommerce scripts.

Shopify c'est un genre de prototype. Si ca fonctionne, tu investis du temps pour le customiser ou changer de plateforme.
Et ton partenaire a raison, tu devrais rencontrer ton client LE PLUS RAPIDEMENT possible. Tres souvent, ton produit final ne ressemblera en rien a ce que tu as concu au depart.

Je dirais qu'on se complète vu qu'on a des approches et idées différentes. Pas toujours facile mais les deux ont est conscients que c'est pour le mieux d'être remis en question par l'autre.

Pour le web on est chanceux, mon père avait monté presque seul le site de pay per view de loft story il y a 12-13 ans, dans le temps que les solutions clé en main à la Shopify étaient rares.
 
Souvent j'aide mon ami avec son site de porn pis esti je deteste ca les bundles spagetti code criss ya 3000 lines de useless shit pis include dis and include dat avec plein de plasters pour bypasser du useless crap. Ca me fait capoter a chaque fois.

Penses-tu que ça serait plus vite de build from scratch?

On est un peu dans ce dilemme, faire notre système propriétaire ou prendre un système plus gros et l'adapter ou faire adapter à nos besoins.
