Measuring a clutch

Hey Guys,

I pulled the transmission out of my car in order to fix a leaking shaft seal gasket and while "in there" I decided to check the wear on my clutch. What is the right way to mesure the thickness?

Pic 1 or 2?




 
number 2. In the first pic there's a 100% chance you're getting a false measures. And why do you use the tip so much ? You're not mesuring the right way lol.
 
Habituellement mesure une Clutch ces en saccotant sur les rivet d'un coter et mesure l'épaisseur qui reste d'un seul coter.

hmmmm? Can anyone else confirm? Because if I go like pic 2 my clutch is good but with SchyZo way its not?
