Porsche 997

too much brand worship is killing the recreational track user - no wonder small groups band together and even hire out driving time for the enduro-type races

THE STORY
Racing shouldn’t just be for rich idiots. Racing should be for all idiots. That’s where Lemons comes in.
Do you just post random stuff?

Racing at any level isnt "cheap".. Lemons and chumpcar are just slightly more affordable but still require a good amount of investment and time. For the casual racer just rent a seat on said race weekend.

Porsche in the 1950s was mollycoddled by LeMans organizers to race there and benefited greatly and continues to do so. Yes, the technical rules make development too costly, but abandoning the smashing girl you took to the ball, what disgusting behavior. I'm living in the past? Every driver and non-factory mechanic (incl. Hollywood actors) piggybacked and/or contributed on/to Porsche's rep earned primarily at LeMans.

You can see in the comments section what I mean, but I'll read those later in full.
