Deslauriers est un plug de 4e ligne. S'il se blesse et ne joue pas pendant 20 parties, il peut se ramasser dans un autobus dans la AHL le restant de ses jours. S'il a un contrat devant lui il le signe avant que le GM ne change pas d'avis. On s'etend pour dire qu'il n'y avait pas 30 GM qui attendaient un dénouement malheureux pour se l'arracher. Ceci étant dit, Deslauriers a l'air d'aimer jouer ici donc je doute très fort qu'il jouerait hardball avec Bergevin. C'est pour ça que Bergevin est capable de ramasser tous les joueurs de 3e et 4e ligne. Les négociations sont faciles. Le GM a tout le pouvoir. Quand il fait face à un bon joueur qui peut avoir d'autres offres, c'est là que ça se corse et c'est là qu'on voit un bon GM qui est capable de s'en sortir même quand ça ne va pas dans la bonne direction. Voir Bergevin vs Radulov et Bergevin vs. Markov. voir aussi Yzerman vs Stamkos et Yzerman vs Drouin.

Je n'ai rien contre la signature. c'est le timing qui fait un peu défaut. Il a sûrement appris ça de Molson qui lui a offert un contrat de 5 ans alors qu'il avait encore 1 an à son propre contrat.
p.s. il y a $15 millions dans la malette.

In good news, Pacioretty seems to get the hang of the tank. tonight a tip of his skate ties the game. unintentional clearly.
the game before that, Pacioretty took a stupid penalty that gave the game away. I'm starting to think he's not what he seems.

I just want to point out that the "non NHL" Canadian Olympic team's defense looks 100X better than Bergevin's "Defense ameliorée."

La grosse patinoire géante even out le tout. Je persiste avec mon énoncé que la defense de Team Canada 2018 > defense actuelle du CH.
Anyway c'est tres clair a mes yeux que le CH a commence a tanker depuis 4-5 games. La ca va etre le concours pour voir qui va heriter du 1st draft pick.
Avec 25 games a jouer les Coyotes et les Sabres sont des bons contenders. Les Sabres ont eu 423056968 1st draft depuis l'ere Hasek pis y'ont absolument rien calisse avec donc je le donnerais aux Coyotes par defaut.
S'ils sont chanceux le CH va pogner le 4 ou 5e pick.

Rebuilding a team, finishing last for a first pick.......I don't buy that, yes you could get a good draft....but its only 1 players...all the rest of the draft are ok and ''future'' good players.
Every one was looking at the Golden Knight and how low they would be...its a new team...its not like they can improve over the last 4 years.....
Something major need to done....the teams as it is has no heart, la sainte flanelle est éteinte en maudit.
J'ai toujours l'impression qu'a Montréal quand il y a un trop bon joueur, qu'on aime et payerais pour aller le voir....au yeaux de l'organisation = money = trade value therfor byebye for new ''future player''

Jagr wanted to come here too. habs passed on him several times. he went to florida instead andhe did better than any hab would have on that team.

I'm going to reiterate - I DO not want Pacioretty or Galcheniuk traded. One has been playing with too much pressure and needs the C off his shirt, the other one needs to play wing (along with Drouin.)
The Habs need 1-2 GOOD centers. No idea where they can get them. They also need to get rid of Shlemko and Benn - bring in better D.
The rest can fall into place. Compare what they did last year with only a few changes the Habs are similar.
They have removed:
Radulov
Markov
Emelin
(Sergachev)
They have added:
Drouin
Benn (as constant as an old French hooker)
Shlemko (is a major fail)
Alzner (ok at best)
Mete
These are not HUGE changes but they had a HUGE impact. Keep in mind the team started losing in December last year. The GM changed the coach for another coach with a similar (but preferred) style and that had no effect. His biggest mistakes are listed above + signing Julien to 5 year contract. It's like nothing Bergevin did in the last 2 years yielded anything positive. Even Drouin is a disappointment.
Byron also stopped scoring for some mysterious reason.

Y'a pas grand monde qui seraient interesses a signer avec le CH par expres. En fait j'ai l'impression que l'un des obstacles les plus majeurs pour que Bergevin concocte une trade c'est la NO TRADE list des JOUEURS ADVERSES qui ont cette clause dans leur contrat.
