What's up guys!!!

So my roommate got a hard on for the classic E30 convertible and sent me this link:

Not knowing much about these cars I told him it was way over priced and we need to find him a fully stock, unmolested one for much cheaper.

After a little research, I found these 3:

So the 3rd one I found is my favourite, looks the cleanest and has a pretty solid maintenance history. I don't anything about these cars but I know they're tanks and can last forever if properly maintained. What issues are known and what to look for when inspecting?

Can one of you beautiful souls help me out with the search for this sunday cruiser. We're ready to go pick up the last one if you guys think it's a good deal and the maintenance and cleanliness work out. Also, the pricing for these bad boys is unfamiliar to me, I'm only basing this on my 24 hour research, but I do know that a clean, bone stock, 5-speed, convertible like this is hard to find.

Cheers

Mike

Is he looking for a base project ?
Performance oriented ?
Give us more details about his need.

For exemple, "is" come with a oem lsd diff, and performance oriented, otherwise it's like driving a truck

Look for loose steering box, yep not all of them come with a pinion and rack.
Look under the rear bumper for rust.
Like you said, those cars are real tank !

Convertibles are a lot easier to find then coupes, they were most often stored in the winter.

Don't shy away from a 318, I had a 318 sport package manual vert, great balance, not super quick but I like them more then the E30 325 vert

318IS coupes are the best balanced out of all of them + lsd+ m interior fittings.

Look for rust behind bumpers, rocker panels and inside the trunk as these cars have a habit of old seals leaking into the interior.
