Le nouveau Star-Trek Discovery

Spiff is right on that one.

Remember Nobody care about capitaine Kathryn Janeway in voyager
and Benjamin Sisko in Ds9

Because of the social justice warrior we think everything is force diversity.

Anti-racist agenda just spawn more racist. Congratulation.

You really can't help but going full retard all the time can you?

Technically, the Discovery never had a female captain.

It's funny that the SJWs are triggered whenever a character is a white male and the Alt-right gets triggered whenever a character isn't a white male.

The Orville is okay but it often feels like bad Star Trek fan fiction.

kirk (shatner) = picard>> Janeway = sisko > young Kirk> georgiou>>>>>>>>>>>lorca

do you see a pattern of white males oppressing other people again? if you do, you should seek help.

edit: oh no! I forgot that guy who did that entreprise series. nobody remembers his name but he's a white male! he's the best of them all!

Nope, i'm rather the type who doesn't give a shit about the race or gender of the characters as long as they're well written and played by good actors. People see a pattern of white male oppression and those who start screaming about feminism and diversity should both seek help. They are equally annoying.

I watched the first season of The Orville because Star Trek Discovery was really bad. The Orville wasn't good but it was watchable. The second season is absolutely terrible. Not only has it stopped being funny, the topics have nothing to do with science fiction. We don't care about moody teenagers, Bortus' porn addiction and Ed Mercer's crappy love life.

I've started watching the first season of the orville. It's alright cheap entertainment. Nor suprised to hear they're running out of steam. I feel you can only push this genre so far.

The Orville S02E01 wasn't any good, S02E02 was slightly better and a bit funnier but it was the type of humor we were expecting from "Family Guy" and "Ted" unlike the less in your face humor we got surprised with last year.

I sincerely hope it gets better with a few away missions or actual interesting topics like they did last year.

If you're comparing ST:TNG to The Orville then you shouldn't forget how the quality of ST:TNG varied wildly especially after season 4, the best ST:TNG episodes were done and we were left with episodes like: "Imaginary Friend" (S05) "Man of the People" "Aquiel" and "Rascals" (S06) or worse the S07 that was just an excuse to stall the broadcast of the final good episode "All Good Things."

I mean I'll still take the worst episode of The Orville over "Sub Rosa" or "Masks."

So, has anyone watched the second season of Discovery?

It was a lot better than the first season but that's mostly because S1 was such a mess that any form of coherence would be an improvement.
The positives:
-A more cohesive story.
-A better use of the ensemble cast.
-Anson Mount as Captain Pike was excellent.
-Michelle Yeoh was also very good.
-Less Klingons making long boring speeches.

The negatives:
-It's still Star Trek: The Michael Burnham Show.
-The need to retcon everything so that it would fit into Star Trek canon.
-The ADD editing and the abuse of lens flares.
-The big ass battle at the end was kinda boring. It also abused CGI effects for the sake of having CGI effects on the screen.
-Sonequa Martin-Green has the annoying habit of whispering her lines when she's trying to show that she's expressing emotions.
-Star Trek cranked up to eleven sounds like a cool idea on paper but they went from saving the Federation from the Klingons in Season 1 to saving all sentient life in Season 2. Either Season 3 will be completely crazy or they will have a strange tonal shift by lowering the stakes.
