Microfreezing in driving games ONLY wtf?

I just tested Forza 7:

Unplugged the Logitech G27 and used the XBone controller
Switched to the 4k monitor at 2160p
NO microfreezing
 
Just tested two more settings:

Forza 7
720p TV
XBone controller
NO Microfreezing

Then

Forza 7
720p TV
G27 wheel and pedals
NO Microfreezing...

WTF? The only thing I did was unplug the wheel while I tested with the XBone controller.

Well I played again yesterday with the wheel and on the TV @ 720p. No microfreezing but I'm using a USB3 port. The wheel is USB2 so it shouldn't make a difference but apparently it does...

Lesson learned.

Note that the XBone controller is only connected when I play games with it.
