Not Another 2002 Project! Ernest’s 1974 build.

Hi cutie, you come here often?

The problem is, the edit button doesn't exist for my old posts.

I'm not a regular here anymore, so I'll slide in your Instagram DM's.

Not sure why you can't edit your original posts, maybe they're too old. Just like us.

So It's been a white
Some updates:
1- Anthony blew up his flicker account and deleted all the pics
2- I spent over a year trying to convince AV Fabrication to take the car. His excuse was always "You're too cheap to pay for this project... I cant get it done for 3K asshat!"

So I finally did what Anthony told me to do and gave him a stack of money. The next day the car was shipped to the shop.

Ya the car is incredibly clean only regret I have so far is not doing a better job at removing the seam sealer. Will Take more pics once they coat it with an epoxy sealer.

Shame there is no one locally who can bake/ acid dip/ phosphate dip a car. No having to deal with seam sealer etc And the residue from the blasting media that is hard to clean out in some areas.

Caustic bath? I know a place with one big pool. I can ask if they could do a car shell if you are interested.

Edit: nevermind, no aluminum in caustic...

Yes original color was blue could only tell from the dash that I guess was not removed during 1st restoration.
I looked into acid bath and found a company in eastern us that does it. Preferred doing business with someone locally and also read some horror stories about acid not getting neutralized properly and basically destroying the paint a few months down the line.

Here some pics with the acrylic paint done. There has been some patch work already done to the metal in various places. Patches seem to be well made and looked "sound".
Also decided against re-doing the passenger floor and frame rail. Again it looked in good shape and could use the money someplace else.

Very nice project ! Keep us up to date! I'd love following you project!

Do you keep an instagram or something with the progress ?

Im on insta but don't post much about the car. All pics are on flickr and the whole project will be here.

So debating what to do with the rear end. I might end up getting the 2002Underground rear subframe. Still mulling it over. And I need a proper diff.
Also need to go to the shop and disassemble both subframes and take apart shocks etc... but because of the lockdown it's been on hold. So progress is very very slow.

Update time? Last post was 2021... WTF is happening here...
a- Project done (Fat Chance)
b- Project abandoned (Extremely likely)
c- Some progress but not much (possible)

what you think?

Update pics
Engine
Front suspension
Rear subframe & Diff
Some pedals
Wheel arches welded and some body panel holes closed off
