Coilover spring calculations

Bought coilovers with upgraded springs. I find them to stiff (16K)

Are my calculations right :

Corner weight 510kg
Compression rate 8kg/mm

510/8=63.75mm or 2.5 inches total spring compression.

Spring is 6'' so 6-2.5 = 3.5 inch

Corner weight 510kg
Compression rate 16kg/mm

510/16+=31.88 so 1.25 spring compression

Compared to my 16k spring, the 8k spring will compress another 1.25'' right ?

On the swifft website is says usable stroke is 3.3 inch and max stroke 3.8 inch
Does this mean that from the 3.5 inch already compressed I only have .2 inch until reaching max stroke ? The usable stroke is what it should compress to when the car is lowered on the spring ?

In short is it doable to go from 16k to 8k without front being to soft ?

Thanks

What car do you have? What is your motion ratio?
Thé spring rate is not the real rate which the car feels.
The spring rate need to be modified by motion ratio to know the perceived rate.
Your motion ratio front and rear may be different also.
Just as an example:
Bmw e90:
Front whee motion ratio ~93%
Rear: ~ 56%

Applying these to the spring rates will give you real rate.

Find your motion ratio and we will discuss further.

Also maximum coil travel before bind is pretty much that, max travel before you have a metal bar.

I have an mk6 golf R. I only found the motion ratio for an mk6 gti :

.98 front
.65 rear

Hyperco has a nice calculator, ill need to take some measurements tho :
