Alberta to exempt turban-wearing Sikhs from motorcycle helmet laws

^SJW logic: when you're wrong, rolls your eyes and act like the other guy is an ass...
If someone gets offended by something that happens at the other end of the country, has no effect on his life and is basically none of his damn business, how is he different from a SJW?

What makes a Sikh a visible minority exactly? The head wear? You just assumed race based on religion. Not very progressive of you.
I never mentioned race. A religion can be a visible minority if they can easily be identified by what they wear.

Nice try but you're wrong....

A visible minority is defined by the Canadian government as "persons, other than aboriginal peoples, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour"

Of course they are. I brought that up because this has nothing to do with prejudice or visible minorities.

I think people are opposed to this because they don't want our government pandering to religious demands. They want equality. Not laws that apply to some, but not others because of their religious beliefs. Where does that end exactly? Why is one demand more legitimate than another? Especially when it comes to safety equipment that the government has deemed mandatory.

Your government, not mine. This is what happens when you elect a socialist government like the NDP. You don't want deficits and pandering to religious minorities? Then don't vote for the NDP.

I was like nigga what?

But then I saw you live in Alberta

Not anymore :)

The province all started to go downhill after the election of Allison REDford.

If people are so jealous of the special privileges the religious minorities are getting, the best solution would be to convert to Sikhism and Jehova's witnesses. That way you get to wear a turban instead of a helmet on a motorcycle and you can refuse a life-saving blood transfusion after you crash. It's a twofer!

For once, I am totally fine with that.
Maybe not for the good reasons but if you ever rode in Asia you would understand why not wearing a Helmet is fine... I mean hey, why get in the way of Natural Selection!

This always get framed as jealousy or thinly veiled racism. Can we not simply be objective about this being a bad idea.

Because in Southeast asia they'd let you bleed to death and rot on the side of the road. Here they'll spend disproportionate amounts of efforts and resources into saving your life (or what's left of it) and rehabilitating you.

not if you're brain dead, which is most likely to happen if your survive a motorcycle accident without a helmet.

You can get medical exemption for helmets in Manitoba. Because surely if you have pre-existing neck pain, not wearing a helmet will lead to better outcomes!

She was so fat maybe the extra weight around her neck is the reason she can’t support a helmet?

Prairies are leaving a sour taste in my mouth lol, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are almost like they’re apart of a different country than BC, AB, ON, QC.

The albertans were dumb enough to vote for the NDP so they're the ones responsible.

This is such an alienated view on Alberta.

Reminds me of everybody west of Saskatchewan saying Quebec is this frenchies are that, like if they lived in 1980 seperanazi Quebec.

I think as well we should all agree that it’s a bad idea, in the end.

this will never happen as long as the saaq has monopoly on insurance here in quebec. (your plate registration is the medical insurance here in Quebec, whereas in every other province, its privatized).

Bon point, dommage.
I could go without a helmet sometimes.
