I always knew Broody was special, but today I confirm that he is just not well informed. He knows very little and it shows with his posts. Go away, like you did with lapping.
I haven't yet sat with Alan to know the details but I can say this about the Labrosse family.
They loved what they did and they invested time and money in this track as it was going to be their home for a long long time. They know the sport like nobody else and it shows when you work with them.
Knowing Alan, he went down fighting and didn't "sell out"- "cash out". He basically took the best offer they had before they would do the inevitable- expropriate without proper compensation. I have an idea of what they paid for the facility and I have an idea of what they put into the facility over the years and the long term plan was to recuperate early losses.
My guess is that with average seasons 2018/2019 and the payout- they will be happy to break even so this is not their ideal scenario,
My personal plan- and I will certainly run this by Alan before implementation-
1) make 2018 a fucking great year with much participation.
2) make 2019 even more special and make sure the village ( it is only a village with small thinking) knows we are there.
3) and this I encourage everyone to participate in- for the next 2 years- every time I spend money in St-Eustache- Timmies- Petro C, Ritchies- Boston Pizza- deppaneurs- Pharmaprix and so forth- I will make sure that the owners know that we spend money- we all do- and that money will no longer be there when we go. they will feel the impact, guaranteed.
I am pretty emotional about this news and I take exception for those who challenge the Labrosse families integrity operating this facility. Let this be a thread to remember, reminisce and talk about all the good that this facility brought to the motorsport community.
Be positive about it- let's make the best of it.... 2 more years .......let's make it real good.
