I wouldn't say Carey played "ordinaire." I'd say he wasn't at the best he's ever been, but none of the goals were really "his fault". The first shot was a missed wrap around (that Price had completely blocked off) that luckily ended up on the wrong guys stick; the 2nd goal was through a 5-man screen; the 3rd (arguably the only one he "should've had") was a perfect shot by Nylander - we gotta give credit tothe shooter when they place a good shot -, and the OT winner was bad coverage on Tavares by Danault and Tavares put a perfectly placed backhand in all alone.
Price does give up some iffy goals sometimes, but I don't think tonight was the case.
About Danault. The second I saw him on the ice against Tavares for the 3/3 OT I knew he'd be in trouble.
On the winning goal Carey didn't follow his mark properly, look at the replay. He just drops to a static butterfly. Not blaming him for the loss because as you said Danault should've covered but wasn't quick enough.
