I confess I've been driving white cars for months.
On a more serious note, I messed up on the road last week. After spending too much time surfing the net in the morning I was late to a rental agency to exchange a car and left the place 5 mins before I was scheduled to start my shift. I drove about 30 over the limit, sometimes more, and suddenly found myself behind an SUV that I thought looked familiar but I wasn't sure if it was my boss' vehicle.
We were on a 2 lane road with 70 km/h limit and the boss was already doing 95. There was a long straight away and I had room to pass but hesitated thinking if that's my boss, as he sees that I'm running late, it won't look good. So I hung back. Then I looked at the time saw I was late and decided to go for it. Problem? Now there was an oncoming vehicle and it was going to be tight. I passed, it fit and the SUV behind me tapped their horn. Oops was it too close? There was still a pick-up in front of me so no chance to put widen the gap behind me.
At the next intersection I could turn, I did and accelerated hard to get away from the SUV hoping to hide in some commercial lot like when you're trying to outrun the cops after passing a laser trap at GEV speeds. I get to work and park further away around a corner, hoping the SUV wasn't my boss and feeling satisfied about having escaped. I walked casually to the entrance and guess who happened to meet me there? The boss! WTF? First thing he said was, "I saw what you did back there...passing with an oncoming vehicle.". I then sheepishly replied, "Oh really, didn't know it was you.", to which the boss replied, "bet you didn't." Damn, busted! Luckily I passed the probation period but this is the second safety violation this boss witnessed, first was at the job, this one on the way.
