I just went to test drive a car. Looks minty in the ad despite high miles. Ad says it's in great shape, just detailed, ready to go. Claims timing belt has been changed twice during ownership (8 years). Strange.
I show up... it's full of scratches, rough shape compared to most. Timing belt change sticker is so old mileage cannot be read. Exhaust rattle on startup. Go for test drive, coming to stop at first red light and it starts bucking/hesitating. TPM light, check engine, VSC, TCS lights are all on. I ask him if he knows what the problem is and he says everything is fine, they fixed everything just forgot to "clear the codes". Yeah, okay. Approaching the next light, it starts doing it again, and continues to do it as long as I'm going under 10-15km/h.
The guy was directing me to the highway and I just said fuck it, turned around and went back.
I'm super passive, but I confess it pisses me off when people are dishonest in their ad, and it pisses me off even more when they try to bullshit you to your face.
