hi everyone, just wanted to know. I get my car a few months back, the car had always been rustproofed for may years (black grease).
The radiator is completly covered with the stuff. Is this bad for the performace (cooling) of the rad? should i remove it? (i have strong chemicals that can get it off).
Thanks

Any type of dirt or debris over your radiator will decrease it's efficiency. You need to be able to see through the passage ways with a flashlight. So yes you should clean it with aluminium safe cleaner and a soft brush. On cars it's less of a problem since radiators are usually oversized. On motorcycles it's much needed as the size of the radiator is very small compared to the size of the engine.

Also, if your car is equipped with AC, the "radiator" on the front of the car is usually your AC condensor and your radiator sits in the back. If that's dirty, then it will decrease your A/Cs effeciency.
