Carbon Fiber Wheels? (Koenigsegg Agera RS1 inside)

was watching the most recent Doug Demuro video and he said that cf wheels are 'common' in today's supercars? What other cars has CF wheels? And on RS1 the wheels are hollow CF lol and they are lighter than the tires? I know it's CF but if you hit a pothole I'm not convinced that they will hold up better than alloy/forged wheels.

But hey if the best/most expensive cars are doing it then they must work.

Do you guys think Carbon Fiber wheels will be a thing in the near future?

watch @4:50

You don't hit potholes with a supercar

The Shelby gt350r has cf wheels too apparently

Ford GT350 R only. "reguler" gt350 don't get CF porn-wheels. God I love the look of CF. Thinking about hydrodippin' my cock for christmas in CF pattern. Dunno if the wife would like...

Quand ta blonde conduit ton char parce que t'as pris un coup et qu'elle scratch tes mags en carbon sur le sidewalk en se parkant en parallèle

I hope so. I love those manufactures bang on about handling and fuel mileage but then bolt a 80lb wheel/tire combo on a car.... The only bummer with carbon is that it's difficult to manufacture and the aero space industry burns most of the supply up

dodge avait des roues en fibre de verre dans les années 90

"Fiberide" wheels
15" x 6.5" reinforced fiberglass composite

’89 CSX-VNT

This fiberide composite is unique to the CSX-VNT. It’s made of fiberglass-reinforced gold-colored molded plastic making it stronger and lighter than comparable aluminum wheels. SHELBY appeared on one spoke.

je sais que c'est hors sujet, c'était juste pour faire un petit clin doeil ;)

I personnaly hate the look of 3K finish carbon fiber. Looks tacky as fuck. Plus 3K weave offers no real structural gain, so its generally added purely for looks, thus increasing weight.

Uni-directionnal CF weaves are much more optimal, but people think parts made with UD finish coat are not made of carbon lol...

I wonder if CF wheels are safe regarding fire hazard with hot brake? Are they coated with a fire retardant? When we see some videos on how fast a CF car can take fire and burn, I see a risk increase for low gain.

They must be simply using a fireretardent epoxy and clearcoat because I doubt the fiber itself is close to inflammable.

case in point, carbon fiber disk brakes are a thing...
