2019 Formula 1 season official thread

So am I hearing right, it wasn't a MGU-H issue but rather a dropped cylinder? Could this cause reliability problems in China?

As quickly as Ferrari were to steer attention away from their Energy Recovery System and onto something traditional like a piston failure, one could be inclined to think they're doing something to their Recovery Systems that they don't want the world to know about.

It's Ferrari: of course it is not the engine but the MGU-H. Ferrari engines never, ever fail. I mean, if the rod punches out of the side of the block and cut the alternator wire, it becomes an electrical problem, no?

Depends how much you want to spend...
I wouldn't bother with general admission. Montreal isn't a GA friendly track... its dead flat. The good GA spots from the 90s are now covered and the crowds are massive for GA.

I've been sitting across from the podium for the last few years, yea the racing action isn't great but being 25ft away from the grid and start makes up for it.. The short walk from the Casino is nice as well. I've sat pretty much everywhere over the last 25+ years. I think grandstand 31 at 285$ for the entire weekend is the best bet followed by 11-12 Senna Esses 475$. Grandstand 24 is nice as it's next to the support race paddocks.

We are so freaking lucky that our race is 15-20 mins away to the city and easily connected. Hell you can even walk to Old Montreal prob faster than the metro line up after the race. There will be a Bixi drop off/ Collection point on Ile Ste Helene again

Yup, only passing was during pit stops. Boring AF. Little drama on the start....nothing much. Onto the next one I guess.

2019, same old...once again the only people who are excited is the F1 Sky Team trying to hype excitement.

The whole F1 Circus is a circus. The Team Managers always talking up how difficult it is, how competitive it is, how close is the racing...Yada-yada-yada...

The races are won by the engineers back in their offices and "who can crunch the most data in the most efficient matter".

Formula 1:

We want to show we are eco-friendly and we support human rights and fair play so...

-Tyre management
-Fuel management
-Energy harvesting management
-Limited money spent by teams
-Mandatory days off for mechanics and team employees

Also Formula1:

1000th Grand Prix - hey let's have it in one of the world's most polluting countries, and that ignores basic human (and animal) rights the most.

I like how some people find Nascar to be boring.
