Click-bait like all those sites, some reports a rumor and everyone runs with it. The team is a marketing tool that it worth north of a billion euros for them. Daimler puts very little into the team cash wise and has very little say. It operates almost independent from Stuttgart. That's no secret either it's in the financial statements
