my dad had a Pontiac 2000 (pretty much the same thing) 4dr 2.0L 5sp brown (both pre- and post-rust)

he gave it away to my babysitter at the time. it was a horrendous pile of shit and continuously has engine and transmission problems, even from new. The Pontiac dealer couldn't find the problems half the time while it was under warranty, but somehow figured it out once it expired. It rusted so bad, but the fact that it was OEM brown helped. It was the worst car he ever owned, and the first and last GM experience my family ever had.

looked like this :

Made me laugh thinking about my dad's '89 Cavalier RS. Lasted 12 years and 220,000kms until it was completely toast, no matter how much my dad fixed it or got it repaired. He still talks about how shitty that car was. But I wish I could say he was like your dad and learned. He moved on to mid 90-'s-early2000's Buicks after that, and continued to deal with GM's problems. He now has a ~2010 Lucerne and just had the fuel lines replaced. A few years ago I found a Lexus GS430 in his area and told him he should look into one of those, or an LS. He test drove it and "didn't like the ride".. Ayyyy. Even a 1993 GS300 is superior to his Lucerne IMO. Hell, my 92 Cressida was almost 20 years older and was standing the test of time better.

My first car was an 89 as base as it got, not even a tape deck. It was a big pile of crap

wow lol

i really didn't think a Lucerne "rode better than a GS430". :dunno:
i guess that's the definition of brand loyalty!
